Google is rolling out new e-commerce features designed to help retailers promote discounts for the holiday sales season. The new Google Deals badge will appear on items with holiday-themed deals in Google Search. While Google previously showed shoppers when items were discounted or prices dropped, now shoppers can see specific promotions and compare them with other offers directly in search results. Google is also adding a new coupon clipping feature that lets shoppers copy promotional codes when they are ready to buy. These new features will roll out over the coming weeks. In addition, Google is allowing consumers to compare shopping offers between retailers. For example: if shoppers search for women's quilted coats on Google, they will see a side-by-side comparison of multiple quilted coat promotions in the search results. This new view will be launched in the United States in November, just in time for the holiday sales season. Finally, Google is also bringing its Price Insights feature to Search to help shoppers understand the prices they see and make better purchasing decisions. Now, buyers can quickly see how one retailer’s prices compare to other retailers and whether the product’s price is low, regular or high. Retailers on the Google eCommerce platform can view their deals execution over time and review their business promotions as they manage their product listings on Google. These new features will make it easier for shoppers to find great deals and view all the products on this season's promotional lists. "The holiday shopping season is just around the corner, and many people have already started placing orders," said Shashi Thakur, vice president and general manager of Google Consumer Shopping, in a company blog post. "We are launching some new features to help shoppers easily find product discounts and increase their conversion rates." Google Improves Search-Based Shopping Features <br data-path="14,1"/>The new promotional features come shortly after Google introduced nine new products designed to improve the shoppability of search results on Google platforms. These new features and tools include: Search using the word “store”: In the US, when consumers search for any desired product followed by “retailer,” they will get a visual view of products related to that item and nearby inventory. Shop the Look: When shopping for clothes on Google, consumers can now “shop the look” to help put together an outfit. The tool will display images of the requested product and additional pieces in Google Search, along with options for where to buy. See what’s trending: Trending products show what’s currently popular in a category. 3D Shopping: In early 2022, Google introduced 3D images of home items to search. Soon, it will add 3D images of footwear (sneakers) and also provide automated display of 360-degree rotation of sneakers using photos based on machine learning (ML). Get help with complex purchases: The new Buying Guides feature shares category information from a wide range of expert sources in one place. See what other shoppers think: This new feature in the Google app brings together context about a web page or product, such as its pros, cons and star ratings, in one view. Get personalized results: Consumers will soon see more personalized shopping results based on their past purchasing habits. Shop your way with new filters: Full-page shopping filters in Google Search are now dynamic, adjusting based on real-time trends. Get inspired beyond the search box: With Discover in the Google app, consumers will see recommended styles based on what they’ve purchased and what others are searching for.
