Walmart expands drone delivery range! The service has been extended to 4 states in the United States!

Walmart is advancing its cooperation strategy with drone operator DroneUp, according to foreign media reports. In addition to the initial Arkansas, the retail giant now also launches drone delivery services in three regions: Arizona, Florida and Texas.

Walmart also plans to launch drone delivery services in Utah and Virginia next year. The retail giant aims to provide drone delivery options in 23 cities across the United States by the end of 2022, the report said.

It is learned that in 2021, Walmart established an initial cooperation with DroneUp to provide drone delivery services at three stores in northwest Arkansas. After customers living within one mile of the store place an order (between 8 am and 8 pm), the drone will deliver the goods within 30 minutes.

Walmart's drone delivery service costs $3.99 with no minimum order. When the item is delivered, the drone uses a cable to gently place the package in the user's designated location.

“Our drone delivery service makes it easy for customers to get the items they need most,” said Vik Gopalakrishnan, vice president of innovation and automation at Walmart U.S. “Walmart is committed to innovating to meet our customers’ shopping needs.”

According to data from Circuit, Walmart was ranked the most trusted company for autonomous and drone food delivery in 2022. The retail giant ranked second among autonomous and drone delivery providers, second only to Amazon.
