Walmart launches new advertising tools to help sellers market during peak season!

It is learned that according to foreign media reports, Walmart recently said in an email to sellers that it has launched a self-service search engine marketing (SEM) tool, which allows sellers to increase the visibility of their products among their target audience.

This new tool allows sellers to promote their products through Google Shopping ads. After the seller sets up a marketing campaign, sets a budget and activates it, the seller's ads will appear in Google search results when the seller searches for relevant products.

According to reports, sellers need to go to the self-service marketing portal in the seller center to set up marketing campaigns, click the "Growth Opportunities" dashboard and select the "SEM" option, and then click the "Create New Campaign" button.

Sellers have two ways to add items to a campaign. If you want to upload item IDs or SKUs in bulk and select hundreds of items at a time (up to 1,000), select "Bulk Select Items". The Bulk Upload page will display the Download Item ID or SKU template. Fill in the template, upload the file and select Submit, and the seller can add the items to the campaign.

The second method is to select products one by one using the checkboxes on the left side of the dashboard. Sellers can use the filter buttons to sort by category or recommended items. Walmart recommends that each campaign contain at least 100 items to better optimize the performance of the campaign.

Walmart said the move is designed to help marketplace sellers drive more traffic to their Walmart product pages through targeted Google ads, helping them achieve the highest possible return on ad spend (ROAS).

Walmart's third-party marketplace has flourished in the past few years, with more than 400 million SKUs on the platform to date, many of which come from individual sellers. The new advertising feature will enable sellers to reach more potential audiences.

As Walmart continues to expand its e-commerce capabilities, adding advertising management options will help the company close the gap with rival Amazon's marketplace. Manish Joneja, senior vice president of Walmart's marketplace and delivery services, recently said that Walmart's marketplace is one of the biggest opportunities in retail today.
