Power banks sold on Amazon and other platforms are recalled by CPSC! There is a risk of fire

It is learned that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recently announced the recall of three mobile power banks sold by Anker due to the risk of fire and burns.

It is understood that the recalled products include Anker power banks with models A1642, A1647 and A1652, with maximum output power of 12W (A1642), 15W (A1647) and 20W (A1652). The word Anker is engraved on the front of the power bank, and the model numbers A1642, A1647 and A1652 are printed on the back.

Between January and July 2024, about 2,100 units of the product were sold in the United States on Amazon, Walmart, AliExpress, Target, Best Buy, eBay and other platforms, as well as NEXT TRADING SAS, C2 Wireless and K Spider stores, with prices ranging from US$40 to US$60. So far, Anker has received 28 reports of battery overheating, explosions and fires, including two consumers with first and second degree burns on their hands.

The CPSC said consumers should immediately stop using the recalled power banks, dispose of the lithium-ion batteries according to local and state regulations, and contact Anker for instructions on how to get a free replacement power bank.
