More than 500,000 electric heaters were urgently recalled by CPSC! Available on Amazon and other platforms

It is learned that on November 7, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of smart electric heaters sold by GoveeLife due to the risk of fire and burns .

It is understood that the recalled products involve a number of GoveeLife smart electric heaters, model H7130, H7131, H7132, H7133, H7134 and H7135, the model number is located on the manufacturer's label at the bottom of the device. The device has "GoveeLife" or "Govee" printed on the front or side, in black and white, and the height ranges from 9 inches to 26 inches, depending on the model.

Between September 2021 and September 2024, approximately 512,500 units of the product were sold on Amazon, Gove's official website , the Govee Home App, and TikTok Shop, with prices ranging from US$30 to US$150.

CPSC pointed out that after testing, these smart electric heaters did not comply with the voluntary industry safety standard UL1278, and the wireless control function could cause the device to overheat, posing a risk of fire and burns. So far, the company has received 113 reports of overheating, including 7 fires and 1 minor burn.

The CPSC said consumers should immediately stop using the recalled heaters and contact the brand for a refund. Consumers need to unplug the power plug and cut the power cord, and send pictures of the damaged heater, the manufacturer's label and SN code on the bottom or side of the device to Govee Life. Consumers with the original order number will receive a full refund, and consumers without the original order number will receive a refund of $31.80 to $106.63, depending on the model purchased.
