Amazon's most important mid-year promotion, Primeday, has begun! This year's Primeday is the longest, lasting two full days and 48 hours. However, due to time differences, the start time of each site is not consistent. The Japanese site started its membership day promotion as early as yesterday, and it has lasted for almost half a day now. What is the current situation? 01 Primeday in Japan This year, the Japanese site is a dark horse site that has exceeded sellers' expectations. The LD flash sale effect far exceeds that of the European site. This morning, many LDs of non-popular products have been sold out. Most other Japanese sites’ LD activities also run well, and our seller communication group also immediately released pictures of Japanese sellers’ explosive sales. (Scan the QR code at the end of the article if you want to join the group~) It seems that the Japanese sellers who have signed up for the event are doing pretty well, but the Japanese site does not have free events like the US this year, so what about the sellers who have not signed up for LD? According to the feedback from the sellers in the group, it can only be said that it is quite bleak. Many sellers even reported that the traffic in the past two days is not as good as usual. It seems that the situation of the Japanese site this year is similar to that of the US site in previous years. The traffic of products that do not participate in LD will be taken away by the event products. Now let's take a look at the highlight - the situation in the US station. 02 Prime Day in the US There was a BUG on the US site before Primeday even started this year. In the morning, everyone found that the coupon page in the background could not be logged in. This was a tough time for sellers who needed to turn on coupons before Primeday. Because the US site has added a lot of free activities this year, many of which will be superimposed on regular coupon discounts, so many sellers need to turn off regular coupon activities before Primeday starts to prevent superposition. If there is a bug in the coupon page, there is no way to change it. So far, the Coupon page is still sometimes good and sometimes not. Sellers who cannot open it are advised to keep an eye on it and refresh it several times. There will definitely be sellers who will suffer compound losses due to not being able to close the Coupon. If it really doesn’t work, cancel the exclusive discount to stop the loss in time. At 3 pm, the Primeday event in the United States finally started with some bumps and bruises. Let’s first take a look at the performance of the two new free events added this year - Prime Exclusive Discounts and Primeday Coupons. Prime Exclusive Discounts There is indeed no dedicated display page or additional traffic entrance for exclusive discounts, but the added Prime Day Deal logo is still very eye-catching. Although there is no additional display, this small logo can still help conversions to a certain extent. After all, it is a free event, so don’t hold too high hopes for results. If there is no LD, participating in the exclusive discount can prevent the traffic and order volume from falling lower than usual. Primeday Coupon There is nothing wrong with the display of exclusive discounts above, which is consistent with the official promotion. However, the performance of Primeday Coupon is a bit disappointing. Many sellers said that although their backend shows that PD Coupon is running normally, they can't see anything on the front-end product. After multiple verifications, I discovered that this PD Coupon is actually only visible to Prime members. Ordinary seller accounts can’t even see the green label with the Coupon! And even when shown to Prime members, this special coupon looks no different from a normal coupon. The only difference is that I don’t dare to use such a big coupon normally. The display effect of this kind is definitely not as good as Prime-exclusive flash sales. At least all users can see this event. The additional display effect of PD Coupon will not be as good as LD. After looking at the effects of the above two activities, there is actually a new change in the activity page of the US site this year. Let’s take a look here. The module on the right side of the page is the Amazon Live function that was recently revised. Select a product on the left and the Live broadcast of the product will be played directly on the right, with various foreign models holding the product and introducing it. Another change is that a countdown function has been added to the upper right corner of the entire Amazon website, which shows in real time how long it will take until Primeday ends. However, because this year's event lasts too long and the sense of urgency of the flash sale is too weak, this countdown function may have a counterproductive effect. Consumers will not be in a hurry to place an order when they see that there is so much time left. Having said the changes, in fact, the flash sales situation on the US site is quite good so far, and many sellers are posting their orders in the group. To sum up, the effect of LD's activities this year is still good. Products that are not reported by LD on the US site will not have all their traffic snatched away by free activities, but most of the traffic on sites such as Japan that do not have free activities will be concentrated on LD products. This year's Prime Day will last for 2 days.
