It's going viral! Will a product page be removed if it has these two words?!

Today, a piece of news exploded in the sellers’ circle of friends and our seller communication group. All the groups were discussing this news.

The US site is conducting random inspections. If the words "warranty" or "guarantee" appear in the five bullet points of the title, the product will be removed from the shelves. In serious cases, the store may even be closed.

The responses from students in our group varied, some said it was a rumor, and others said customer service had confirmed the situation.

The information about this news is very complicated now, but because it is of great importance, I will try my best to collect information from various sources and analyze with you what the situation is.

◆ ◆ ◆ ◆

The current official news

Let's first look at how the customer service staff view this news. Below are the various customer service replies I have collected. Strangely, the customer service staff have different opinions on this news. Some say that there is indeed a possibility of closing the store.

There are also Amazon customer service staff who said that the words "warranty" and "guarantee" are not prohibited in the background policy.

It can be seen that the authorities were not aware of the store closure and random inspection, but we all know that the authority of the Chinese customer service is relatively low . Even if there is a random inspection, it is impossible to issue any notification to the customer service staff (can it still be called a random inspection if it is notified in advance?).

In addition to customer service, we also found the official description of the warranty.

At first glance, it seems that it is indeed forbidden to publish warranty-related information, but if you look closely at the content of this clause (especially the red-boxed part), you will find that the content actually states that sellers cannot publish warranty-related products without approval.

This does not mean that warranty terms cannot be indicated on the product page, but warranty products are prohibited. This is a bit difficult to understand. I will use the picture below to help you understand what warranty products are.

I took a screenshot of JD.com, and now you should understand that the official prohibited warranty products mentioned above refer to this kind of service products that require additional payment and have a separate sku. It does not specify whether we are prohibited from providing warranty services for general products.

Now the official customer service’s attitude is unclear, and there are no clauses in the background that can strongly support this ban, so many sellers are now beginning to doubt the authenticity of this news.

We have asked students and friends around us, and also notified them on WeChat Moments. Although everyone is actively making changes, so far no one has reported that the product has been removed from the shelves for this reason.

However, spot checks are a very mysterious thing. Not encountering it does not mean it does not exist. Even if everyone says they have not encountered it, it does not prove that this is a rumor. So I suggest that for the sake of safety, you should quickly check your products and delete or replace these two words. If you attach great importance to this warranty clause, you can change it back after the storm has passed or the truth is revealed.

Regarding Amazon policies and various emergencies, the news in our group is always the fastest. Hurry up and scan the code to let me add you to the seller group.
