Just yesterday, New York State, one of the most prosperous areas in the United States, and many other areas were hit by the strongest snowstorm this winter. Affected by this storm, the local logistics and transportation system experienced large-scale delays and delivery problems, including many Amazon FBA warehouses. According to the information I learned from the media and freight forwarding channels, the east and west coasts of the United States are currently being hit by snowstorms. Most of the affected FBA warehouses are concentrated in Northern California, central and northeastern Illinois, and New York, including dozens of FBA warehouses such as SMF1, SMF3, SMF6, SMF7, SJC7, SJC8, SCK4, etc., all of which are warehouses that have been severely affected. The storm and heavy snow damaged the local power supply system to varying degrees, and even large areas of houses were destroyed by the storm. Among these affected warehouses, there is also a popular warehouse SMF3. Since the beginning of the year, this warehouse has been reported to have extremely slow warehousing and shelving. It was once believed that it was unable to shelve due to internal maintenance. Many sellers have encountered the problem that the goods sent to SMF3 are shown as signed for in the background, but have not been put on the shelves for several weeks. Now it has caught up with the snowstorm, and this wave of goods sent to SMF3 is no longer expected. In February 21, a similar problem was encountered. Snowstorms and extreme cold weather seriously affected the local logistics system. Amazon also issued a special announcement to help sellers. “ Amazon's Extreme Weather Response Announcement In its extreme weather response announcement at the time, Amazon warned sellers of the various problems that severe cold may cause, and also appropriately relaxed some delivery requirements for sellers that may be affected. Sellers with affected self-delivery orders or participating in SFP can check themselves against some official measures. 1. If the seller cannot deliver the self-delivered order on time, the logistics list can be temporarily set to invalid. For related settings, please refer to the "List Status" help page for vacations, holidays and other absences. 2. If the seller is sure that the self-fulfilled order cannot be shipped, the SFP seller can temporarily turn off the Prime badge on the product to avoid affecting the customer experience. Wait until the weather improves and the order can be shipped on time, then turn on the Prime badge. 3. You can contact the buyer through the buyer-seller messaging service to inform the buyer that the order will be delayed due to the snowstorm. Due to delays and performance losses caused by severe weather, Amazon will re-evaluate the situation after the seller's appeal is verified. This requires sellers to provide timely feedback to Amazon when they receive any performance-related reminders. Sellers using the FBA program will have Amazon handle any problems that may arise, but the first leg of transportation is affected, and many freight forwarders have issued warnings that warehousing will be delayed by at least 2-3 weeks. |
