As the end of the year approaches, an important Amazon FBA Brexit date has been announced today, which will begin to affect sellers' businesses as early as mid-November. Amazon has announced that the UK will be isolated from EU FBA from January 1, 2021, which is not what they want to see, but the consequence of the UK leaving the EU. Amazon wants to help you prepare your business and as we approach the peak season and new post-Brexit customs borders, we want to provide you with the latest information on key FBA inventory dates to help you prepare for the upcoming changes. “We know these are challenging times for our sales partners, and we want you to know that we are steadfast in supporting your business as we transition.”
——European Amazon Services While the Transition Agreement between the UK and the EU expires on December 31st, Amazon cannot simply switch operations on January 1st, so today they have shared their plans for when the changes will occur. The aim is to ensure that selling partners using FBA have enough time to manage their inventory levels in the UK and EU. As usual, December will be a busy period, so Amazon has listed the latest date they can ensure that products will reach their destination. Amazon FBA key Brexit dates November 14: Inventory removal orders for cross-border inventory will cease This means that stock removals from UK fulfilment centres to EU addresses and from EU fulfilment centres to UK addresses will cease from November 14. All removal orders created before this date will continue to be processed until December 31, 2020. Local removal requests will continue to be accepted as normal (i.e. within the UK or EU region). December 18: Pan-European FBA stock transfers will cease between the UK and EU From now on, you will need to send inventory to fulfillment centers in both the UK and the EU to maintain stock levels (see the Amazon Brexit help page for information on how to do this). Pan-European FBA inventory that has been placed in the EU before Friday, December 18 will continue to be used to fulfill EU orders, and pan-European FBA inventory in the UK will continue to fulfill UK orders. Pan-European FBA inventory transfers will continue as normal within the EU. December 21: Cross-border delivery via EFN and Pan-European FBA will begin to end Cross-border logistics through EFN and Pan-European FBA will have to stop by the end of this year to give Amazon Logistics time to complete final orders. Cross-border sales slowed down sharply in the week starting December 21, and completely stopped on Monday, December 28. In order to maintain sales in Europe, sellers need to send products to fulfillment centers in the UK and the EU.
