Therefore, many Amazon sellers have the habit of "checking category rankings, recording ranking changes, and analyzing reasons for changes" in order to understand the market potential of products and adjust advertising strategies in a timely manner.
 
We learned that recently some sellers reported in the forum that the Amazon category rankings had not been updated for more than 24 hours.

For this reason, the seller opened a case, but received a reply from customer service that "the ranking system is generally updated once every 96 hours."
 
Subsequently, more and more sellers said they encountered the same problem:
“The rankings haven’t changed. I also said that my product has been too stable in the past two days.”
"It hasn't changed since yesterday. I thought it was a front-end bug."
“The rankings are stuck, the ads are just spending money but not converting, and sales are plummeting.”
 
We learned that in the past two days, sellers on the US and European sites have reported that category rankings have been delayed in updating, affecting product operations.
 
Many sellers also discussed the reasons for the delay in the category ranking update. Some sellers said that this was because Amazon's IT staff was on holiday due to the Memorial Day holiday in the United States ; some sellers speculated that Amazon might be planning to extend the update time of the category ranking ; and more sellers believed that this was probably because of a bug in Amazon's system.
 
As of now, Amazon has not yet explained the delay in updating the category rankings.
 
But fortunately, it has been observed that some sellers have reported this morning that Amazon category rankings have resumed updating, and sellers can now make operational adjustments based on the latest category rankings.
 
In general, due to the fast processing speed, the delayed update of category rankings does not seem to have a significant impact on most sellers. However, according to seller feedback, in addition to the delay in category ranking updates, the ranking of category keywords has also been abnormal recently.
 


Category keyword rankings rise, but sellers’ sales volume decreases instead of increases?
 
It is learned that a few days ago, an Amazon seller on the forum said that since the end of April, the keywords of their category have started to increase. The background ABA data shows that the category keyword ranking has increased from 20,000+ to 7,000+, but the sales of the links have become worse and worse.

After that, the seller increased the advertising budget, but it still didn't work, and even the conversion rate began to deteriorate . For this reason, the seller posted a message on the forum asking for help: How can I save this link and stop the downward trend in sales?
 
After the post was published, many sellers responded that they had similar experiences in the past month, where their category keyword rankings in ABA were higher, but sales volume decreased.
 
Sellers have different opinions on the reasons for the above situation: some sellers mentioned that it is now the eve of a big sale, and overseas consumers may be adding items to the shopping cart in advance but not placing orders; some sellers said that the recent A BA data is problematic , while more sellers tend to believe that the overall traffic of the platform is declining .
 
As of now, the reason for the abnormal ranking of category keywords is still unknown.

Although Amazon has not responded to these new regulations so far, they seem to indicate that as platform traffic reaches its peak and competition becomes more intense, a company as huge as Amazon is also making adjustments and changes.
