Amazon's review deletion wave is coming again! Account blocking and store closures cause sellers to panic

Amazon's review deletion wave is coming again! Account blocking and store closures cause sellers to panic

What I never expected is that this year has passed so quickly, and we have already entered November without realizing it. Here, I hope that November will be better for cross-border e-commerce sellers! After all, we have really had a hard time this year, and those who understand will understand.

However, we who work on Amazon are destined to have a hard time. Today, when I was surfing the WeChat groups of major sellers, I saw a Japanese seller who said helplessly: "Since October, the reviews of the listings have been dropping one after another. In the past few days, the reviews have dropped even more sharply. Moreover, no matter whether I found reviews or reviews with pictures, they have all been deleted by Amazon!"

The editor was confused all of a sudden . I don’t know if this situation only happens to individual sellers, or if it breaks out on a large scale...

After looking at the chat records, the editor found that the reasons for the deletion of comments were different:
Seller A: I accidentally dropped more than 50;
Seller B: I lost 9 out of 120 reviews in one week, so miserable.
Seller C: Yesterday, about 30 units of one product were lost;
Seller D: I just refreshed it and 60 items dropped directly;
Seller E: Both negative and positive reviews are being deleted. It is possible that some reviewers are deleting their own reviews to protect the buyer's account.
Seller F: The review with pictures was just posted, but it fell down before it lasted 24 hours.

It can be said that one is worse than the other. It seems that the news a while ago is true! Amazon will block a large number of accounts from November 1st to November 3rd. Sellers who need reviews should suspend reviews first, otherwise they will face the risk of being blocked .

Fortunately, from the perspective of the sellers who have received these feedbacks, there has been no account closure for the time being, only the comments have been deleted. The editor will continue to pay attention!

At present, the phenomenon of review deletion on Amazon Japan is quite serious, especially reviews with pictures. Moreover, according to sellers’ feedback, in this review deletion incident, sellers did not receive the red flag in advance and their reviews were directly deleted, which made the sellers not mentally prepared at all. During the peak season, Amazon has strict control over the manipulation of reviews. Recently, sellers are still cautious about brushing reviews to avoid having their accounts blocked.

Some sellers have already predicted the consequences of the deleted comments: starting with a drop in keyword rankings, followed by a sharp drop in traffic and a decrease in orders.

Amazon cancels Black Friday ads

Since late October, most sellers have felt a horrible drop in order volume, and tacitly thought that foreigners were waiting for Black Friday, and we were also making various preparations for Black Friday.

However, recently, due to the resurgence of the epidemic, at least 12 countries in Europe, including the five major markets of Britain, France, Germany, Italy and Spain, have issued blockade orders, and the European market as a whole has collapsed.

According to Amazon's prediction, more consumers turned to online shopping during the second wave of the epidemic. The re-lockdown of many European countries will greatly promote the Black Friday and Cyber Monday Christmas holiday promotions. Like other sites, Amazon originally planned to carry out promotional activities in France from October 26 to November 19.

However, the French government said that Amazon's online promotion was unfair to small stores that were forced to close due to the epidemic, and the French government asked Amazon to withdraw its "Black Friday" event advertising in France . In response, an Amazon spokesperson said that the company has agreed to stop broadcasting advertisements related to "Black Friday" .

France's junior economy minister also said: "At a time when 200,000 businesses have had to close, Amazon's advertising is inappropriate. "

Final Words

There are only two months left in 2020. Regardless of whether there will be other emergencies, try not to make small moves and keep going!
