What is the Amazon Early Review Program? What are the requirements and benefits?

1. What is the Early Reviewer Program?

The Early Reviewer Program is a program that Amazon encourages buyers to write authentic 1-5 star reviews for a product after purchasing it, in order to help other buyers better understand the product and assist in making shopping decisions. The Early Reviewer Program means that Amazon will arrange professional reviewers to leave reviews for each A SIN. Amazon will give these selected early reviewers (evaluators) a shopping card of $1 to $3 as a reward for writing reviews, thereby stimulating them to write authentic, reliable and illustrated reviews. However, you cannot contact them directly and cannot exert any influence on them. Moreover, this program is not limited to excellent reviewers, and any buyer can participate.

If you get an early review, there will be a special orange icon under your Review: "Early Reviewer Rewards".

2. Participation Requirements

1. Currently only available to the US site, other sites will be notified, and this plan is only open to some sellers. Global stores can synchronize Reviews but also need products sold in the US.

2. The brand needs to be registered on Amazon.

Amazon is increasingly emphasizing the importance of brand registration. Future policies and plan implementations will most likely require sellers with brand registration to participate.

3. Only ASINs with less than 5 reviews and a unit price of no less than $15 are eligible to participate in this program.

4. The fee is $60 per ASIN. Only the parent ASIN can be added for variants. The fee details can be seen in the backend payment, and the full amount will be collected as soon as the first early review is received.

5. Valid for 5 Early Reviewers or one year.

6. Amazon attracts buyers to leave reviews by giving $1-3 shopping cards to users who have purchased products. But you cannot contact them directly, so you have no influence on them at all.

7. Successfully participate in this early review program and obtain the so-called early review. Reviews have a special orange logo: 'Early Reviewer Rewards', similar to the Top reviewer logo.

8. Once you have participated, you cannot cancel.

3. Participation Fees

The current fee for the Early Reviewer Program is $60 per product, and the program ends after 5 reviews are received through this program. Amazon will charge the fee after the ASIN of the seller who joined the Early Reviewer Program receives the first review obtained through the program. At the same time, Amazon will urge customers who participated in this program to leave reviews for a period of no more than one year until all 5 reviews are received.

For ASINs that join the Early Reviewer Program, Amazon will charge fees after receiving the first review. The fee details can be seen in the backend payment. The amount of the fee will be displayed when you submit the SKU list to join the program, and the deduction list will be reflected in your expense report list.

As for whether you will be refunded if you receive less than the planned 5 reviews, Amazon clearly tells you: NO. The fee is a fixed rate, whether you receive one, three or five. Of course, according to Amazon, there is only one situation in which you will not be charged, that is, if you do not receive even one review.

5. Impact

1. As an effective channel for obtaining official product reviews, Amazon attaches great importance to product reviews.

2. Listings are required to have brand registration. Amazon aims to guide more sellers to take the branding route.

3. It is beneficial to small and medium-sized sellers, as it can help them obtain effective reviews and is more conducive to their promotion of new products.

6. Notes

1. The reviews left by early reviewers are not limited to "good reviews", but 1-5 star reviews, which means that your product will face a real "evaluation test". If your product itself has problems and flaws, then you may have spent $60 to get a "bad review". So be careful when choosing products to participate in, and don't be too blinded by any new policy. Think carefully before participating.

2. Many sellers choose to contact the other party with the intention of deleting the Early Review after receiving it with less than 3 stars. This violates a ban of Amazon and needs to be thought twice before doing so.

3. The early reviewer program should be based on the existing policies regarding customer reviews, including the policy regulations prohibiting sellers from manipulating reviews.

4. Sellers cannot advertise that their products have been included in the Early Reviewer Program.

5. Participating in the Early Reviewer Program means you agree to bear the corresponding fees.

7. Q&A

Q: Which reviewers will be selected to participate in this program?

A: Amazon will invite some of the buyers to participate, not just professional reviewers. And these buyers have no history of false reviews or malicious reviews. Amazon hopes that the reviews written by these reviewers are authentic and have reference value.

Q: What rewards can early reviewers get?

A: If the reviewer's review complies with Amazon's review rules, they will receive a $1-3 gift card as a small reward. This small reward is to encourage them to write a true shopping experience, rather than as an incentive.

Q: Can sellers contact or "manipulate" these early reviewers?

A: No. Sellers cannot choose which reviewers to participate in this program. Sellers are not allowed to contact these early reviewers to modify or delete their reviews. And as long as the reviews written by these early reviewers comply with Amazon's review rules, Amazon will not delete these reviews. Early Reviewer reviews will be marked with "Early Reviewer Rewards".
