Breaking news! Many Chinese Amazon sellers sued, including a big seller in Shenzhen

The end of the year is approaching, and just when many sellers are preparing to temporarily close their stores and go home for the New Year, many sellers have been sued, including a big seller in Shenzhen .

12 companies were sued, most of them were Chinese sellers

According to foreign media reports, the US company NOCO filed a federal lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District, accusing nearly 12 companies ( mostly located in China, including a major seller in Shenzhen ) of using Amazon's system to generate false product reviews and manipulate algorithms to deceive shoppers on Amazon.

NOCO, founded in 1914 and headquartered in Ohio, USA, mainly produces auto parts. The company said that more and more customers are buying its products, jump starters and battery chargers on Amazon.

In the lawsuit, NOCO accused the 12 companies of the following crimes:

1. Fake review trading, hiring external companies to post fake negative reviews of competitors.

2. Manipulate Amazon's algorithm so that low-quality products get the "Amazon's Choice" label, thereby increasing their own sales.

3. Using keywords such as “fire,” “explosion,” and “blown up” in competitor reviews to create false safety concerns, draw Amazon’s attention to product safety issues, and cause Amazon to remove a product from the website.

4. Using overseas click farms (hiring people to click on links) to increase NOCO’s advertising costs because the company has to pay Amazon every time someone clicks on their ads.

The lawsuit states that overseas click farms (which employ people to click on links) push these reviews to the top, generating more views.

“It doesn’t cost these companies $2 to get a fake review,” NOCO said . “It’s absolutely disheartening to think that all your hard work, all your product development, all your technology can be done for a $2 review, and it seriously affects our profitability and affects our brand reputation.

Therefore, NOCO hopes to expose the actions of these bad sellers and push the market back to a fair competitive environment. At the same time, NOCO also calls on Amazon and the US Congress to make more efforts to create a fair competitive environment for businesses and shoppers.

However, NOCO only sued 12 companies that it believed were manipulating reviews and gaming Amazon's algorithm, and did not sue Amazon.

How to break the operation comments?

Sellers, please note that if you are caught manipulating reviews on Amazon, your account will be blocked. Don’t try this lightly. However, malicious negative reviews are very common on Amazon. Here we will talk about what to do if you encounter fake negative reviews.

Fake negative reviews have only one purpose: to undermine another seller’s product . This is very common if both parties are selling the same product or similar products.

The process for identifying fake negative reviews is very similar to that of fake testimonial reviews, the only difference being that the emotional language used in this case is negative. In many cases, these types of reviews sound a bit exaggerated, which can be a strong sign that they may be fake.

Another way to determine the authenticity of a review is to identify the buyer . Fake reviews are made by unverified buyers (i.e., those without the Verified Purchase badge). This means they have no right to review products they did not purchase. However, many sellers will actually purchase the product and then give a bad review, which makes it difficult to deal with.

So, how do ordinary sellers report fake reviews on Amazon?

Let me teach you a trick: if you receive a bad review, report abuse, then comment, and finally file a series of complaints in the backend.
