Storage capacity drops sharply, Prime Day postponed! Is it time to give up on Canada?

Recently, the epidemic situation in India has reached a very serious level, with the number of newly confirmed cases exceeding 400,000 per day. The continued deterioration for many consecutive days has made all countries worried.

Amazon has also taken some measures to deal with this. It is learned that Amazon has restricted delivery services in most parts of India and only delivers necessities in Delhi and Mumbai. Recently, Amazon announced the postponement of this year's Prime Day event in India.

Prime Day postponed in Canada

In addition to the grim situation in India, another site that has been criticized by sellers is the Canadian site. In recent days, a series of operations by the Canadian site have put sellers in dire straits.

Some time ago, Amazon officially announced the good news that it will hold Member Day in June this year. Just when many sellers were looking forward to this excellent day for explosive sales, Amazon notified that it would postpone the Member Day promotion activities on the Canadian site.

Amazon has postponed its annual Prime Day promotion in Canada due to the worsening epidemic in both countries. Amazon said it would suspend the two-day discount promotion in Canada, but did not disclose the restart date.

The Canadian site is often complained by sellers as a site with "only slaps but no candy". When other sites announced the relaxation of shipping restrictions, the Canadian site did the opposite and tightened inventory restrictions again.

This "alternative" operation once left sellers speechless and they wondered: Can the Canadian site still be done?

The storage capacity has dropped suddenly. Can the Canadian station still operate?

However, the bad news does not end there. Not long after Amazon announced ASIN-level replenishment restrictions on FBA products, sellers on the Canadian site reported that the site’s inventory capacity and shipment volume had dropped a lot.

Some sellers reported in the seller communication group that the Canadian site has recently tightened inventory restrictions. Originally, 75 new products could be shipped last month, but this month it has become 20.

We also observed the situation of other sellers and found that many Canadian sellers had the same experience, and their inventory capacity showed a downward trend to varying degrees.

"It was 8525 before the holiday, and it dropped directly to 1923 today. I was dumbfounded."

"Not only did the individual ASINs drop to 20, but the total inventory went from 20,000 to 7,000."

"I was able to create a shipment when placing a replenishment order, but now I can't create a shipment when the goods are ready to be shipped."

The situation of the seller below resonated with other sellers: as a small seller, the maximum inventory of each product was directly compressed to 20, and the total inventory was reduced from more than 1,000 to 500.

The seller reported that the maximum inventory on the Canadian site's shipment processing progress page did not correspond to the maximum inventory quantity on the inventory planning page. After consulting customer service, they responded that the Canadian government required the closure of some Amazon warehouses. Finally, the seller also raised the same question: Is Amazon Canada going to be closed? Can it still be operated?

Sellers have been complaining about the successive inventory restrictions on the Canadian site. Now, with the FBA listing time, final-mile logistics, customs clearance, pickup, etc., there is no sign of goods being put on the shelves, which has brought a lot of trouble to sellers' operations.

The sudden drop in storage capacity will only affect the speed at which sellers place orders. Some sellers complained that after a sudden surge in orders, they were unable to ship the goods due to limited storage capacity.

At the same time, as Amazon tightens its storage capacity restrictions, sellers will not only be unable to ship goods, but will also be charged excess storage capacity fees by Amazon, making the situation even worse for sellers who already have few orders.

Some sellers said that the calculation of inventory capacity is linked to the IPI score, but it mainly depends on the seller's sales . Even if the seller's IPI score meets the standard, it may not be able to enjoy unlimited inventory capacity. However, the IPI index is still an important indicator for inventory management, so how can sellers improve their IPI scores?

1. Increase your sales rate

Amazon expects sellers to maintain a 90-day rolling sales rate, which puts you in the “green” position on the IPI chart.

Sellers can increase conversion rates through promotional activities, increase advertising investment for products, strengthen keyword targeting strategies, and use more attractive listing images to improve sales rates.

2. Avoid overstocking

Obviously, Amazon doesn’t want to stock products that aren’t selling well. Amazon also recommends that sellers set up “Amazon Direct” deals to quickly sell overstocked and outdated products.

3. Avoid huge storage fees

Make sure you sell all your inventory before FBA reaches 365 days. If your inventory is older than 365 days, you will face huge long-term storage fees. You can create removal orders or even have Amazon destroy your inventory to reduce costs.

4. Proactively and promptly resolve inventory replenishment and sales issues

If your inventory is not replenished in time, or there are any other problems that prevent buyers from placing orders, please resolve them promptly.

The above are some methods that can help sellers better manage inventory. If sellers have other questions, please leave a message in the comment area~
