Recently, according to industry sources, a service provider in Shenzhen was arrested by local police for buying and selling accounts. It is reported that the service provider mainly deals in the buying and selling of various Amazon store accounts, including VC and SSN numbers, and earns more than 600,000 yuan a month when the profits are huge.


Currently, Amazon accounts are mainly divided into three types: SC, VE, and VC. SC is the most common third-party seller account, VE is a platform launched by Amazon for suppliers, and VC accounts are also for suppliers, but have more permissions . Since VC accounts can obtain more sales data on the Amazon platform in the background, and also have exclusive A+ pages, listing modification and other functions, it has further spawned gray transactions such as VC account buying and selling.


Advertising information such as various service providers selling VC accounts and providing VC accounts can be seen everywhere. A VC account on a US website can even be sold for more than 500,000. At the same time, Amazon has continuously upgraded its risk control and strengthened relevant audits to address this chaos . Recently, it has also banned a large number of VC accounts that are not compliant or have potential risks.


In addition to service providers, various product selection pitfalls are also pitfalls that Amazon sellers need to avoid in their daily sales.


Affected by the energy crisis in the autumn and winter of last year, electric blankets and other heating equipment became popular in the European market, becoming a new sales hotspot, and also attracted many cross-border merchants to compete in this track. Now as the popularity gradually fades, a hot-selling product has been exposed recently.


According to foreign media reports, more than 350,000 Bedsure electric blankets and heating pads sold by Amazon's popular Bedsure brand have been recalled due to fire hazards. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall notice.



The CPSC said in the announcement that the controllers of electric blankets and heating pads may malfunction, posing a risk of fire and thermal burns to users. It is reported that Bedsure has received 137 reports of blankets and pads catching fire, burning, melting and overheating, including 17 reports of burns. It is worth noting that one person also suffered second-degree burns from using an electric heating pad.

 

It is understood that the recalled products were sold on Amazon and Bedsure's own independent website from August 2022 to November 2022, with prices ranging from US$25 to US$110.


Also subject to the CPSC recall is a domestic outdoor cooking appliance because the insulating coating on the stove could catch fire during use, posing a fire hazard.


The series of recall cases also serve as a warning to sellers that they need to carefully screen products during the product selection process, ensure product quality and avoid unnecessary safety risks, so as to avoid incurring huge losses.



Revealing Temu's hot selling routine, fake high cost performance and real false propaganda




In addition to Amazon, Temu, which has been in the limelight recently, has also been plagued by many "risks".


Pinduoduo, which started its overseas business at the end of last year, has replicated the same low-price strategy used in China. In order to quickly capture the minds of consumers with its rock-bottom prices, Temu has been exerting pressure on the supply side, requiring merchants to reduce prices to the extreme.



How did Temu force the optimization of the supply chain? A seller revealed that, for example, a well-known tissue paper factory on Taobao was invited to join Pinduoduo and asked for a price lower than that of Taobao. Therefore, the tissue paper factory chose a best of both worlds solution, which was to change the size.


"In the past, other brands of tissue paper I bought were all large in size, but on Pinduoduo, they are generally smaller in size because they appear to be more cost-effective. A large-size one may cost 30 packs for 50 yuan, but for the same picture, a small-size one may cost 45 packs for 50 yuan. Since the main picture is the same, there is no difference in the visual effect for consumers," the seller added.


In response to this, some sellers said that the same idea of ​​selling hot products can also be applied to Temu, making the products appear to be more cost-effective than those on other e-commerce platforms, and in fact they will not be complained by customers for false advertising.


It can be seen that many of the hot-selling products on Temu actually have many tricks behind them. Some merchants are forced to "take action" on products due to pricing pressure. Such an environment has also led to the quality of products on Temu being criticized and repeatedly receiving negative feedback from consumers.
