BerryKitchen Basic Introduction

BerryKitchen, based in Jakarta, allows users to order a variety of gourmet dishes. Their payment system is similar to a credit system: users can create an account and then buy some credit points, which they can then use to select meals.

BerryKitchen Services

BerryKitchen offers three main services: online lunch box bento, instant cooking and on-demand packaged meals, which are chef-prepared meals prepared by Indonesian celebrity chefs and delivered within an hour.

BerryKitchen Features

BerryKitchen has a feature called "Ready to cook" that provides home delivery of gourmet ingredients and recipes to users who like to cook by themselves. This way, users don't have to go out to buy them. This model was popularized by companies like Blue Apron in the United States, and now Indonesian startups are also trying this concept.

BerryKitchen Financing

In 2014, the Berrykitchen.com startup received an investment of IDR 500 million (USD 43,700) from Angel Investment Network (ANGIN) in its seed round of financing.

In July 2015, BerryKitchen announced that it had completed a $1.25 million Series A financing round through US Sovereign's Capital and its original investor East Ventures. With this funding, BerryKitchen will be able to increase the amount of food it processes every day by five times within a year and further expand its market scope.

In May 2019, Yummy Corp, a subsidiary of Ismaya, a leading Indonesian catering and entertainment group, acquired an Indonesian online catering reservation service provider. After the acquisition, the entire Berrykitchen team will join Yummy Corp's online catering operation Yummybox. Berrykitchen's mobile application will also be integrated into the Yummybox App.
