Lulumoon was founded by Canadian Chip Wilson , a serial entrepreneur with a genius insight into clothing and once one of the top ten richest people in Canada according to Forbes.

Product Category

In terms of product categories, Lululemon's product line has been continuously extended. Lululemon, which originally only sold women's yoga clothes , now also sells sportswear specially designed for running, swimming, ballet, etc. It even recently launched the On the Fly series to meet commuting and office needs . It is no longer limited to the vertical category of sports and fitness, but is developing into a multi-category clothing brand.

In 2013 , Lululemon began to enter the Chinese market, opening only three showrooms in Shanghai Xintiandi, Shanghai Mall and Beijing Sanlitun .

From 2013 to 2016 , although there were no physical stores of Lululemon in China , the community cultivation of three showrooms made Lululemon famous.

On November 18 , 2015 , Lululemon’s official Tmall flagship store officially opened, adding new products approximately every two weeks and gradually introducing the same products as those in Canada, providing more choices for Chinese consumers.

At the end of 2016 , Lululemon opened three physical stores in Sanlitun, Beijing, IFC Pudong, Shanghai, and Kerry Center, Shanghai.

In 2018 , Lululemon entered the WeChat Mall to further build social e-commerce, hoping to establish long-term emotional connections with customers through the WeChat Mall.

Development History

In 1999 , the first lululemon store officially opened in Vancouver.

In 2009 , Lululemon launched the Lab brand concept and opened a store in Vancouver to test the market.

In June 2017 , Lululemon announced the reorganization of the Ivivva brand. At that time , 40 of the 50 Ivivva stores were closed and 8 were converted into Lululemon brand stores.

In 2017 , Ivivva incurred restructuring charges of more than $ 50 million.

In May 2018 , Lululemon released its first global marketing commercial " This is Yoga " , which was also its first large-scale advertising campaign.
