Common violations

False sales practices

In order to help buyers easily find and compare products on Shopee, we strongly prohibit the following behaviors to manipulate search results to obtain unfair rankings:

1. Setting inappropriate keywords

Using repeated or irrelevant keywords in your product titles or descriptions.

a. Add words such as Adidas, Puma and other brands under the Nike sports brand shoes:

b. Add other product names to the "Short Skirt" product: Short Skirt, Dress, Pants, Shoes.

c. Mention other brand names: Apple iPhone 6s (do not mention Samsung, Nokia, etc.)

d. Repeated and meaningless product names: Apple iPhone 6s Apple iPhone 6s Apple iPhone 6s Apple iPhone 6s Apple iPhone 6s

• Misleading and inaccurate pricing

2. Manipulating search results by listing abnormally high or low-priced products; or posting very low-priced products to attract consumers, but the products themselves are marked as not for sale.

• Duplicate listings

3. If there is no obvious difference between the products listed by the seller, it will be considered as duplicate listing. Shopee will determine whether duplicate listing is established through product name, product description, product status, photo, price and category.

• If you are found to have the above false sales, you have three days to remove these false listings. If you fail to improve within the deadline, these products will be banned from trading or deleted. Furthermore, the display priority of normal listings will also be affected; or your account may be frozen.

Duplicate listing

1. Basic Definition

Multiple products listed in the same store with exactly the same product name, product description, price, specifications and pictures will be considered duplicate products.

2. Purpose

In order to provide buyers with a better search experience, the Shopee platform will delete duplicate listed products.

3. Logic for deleting duplicate products

1. If no orders are placed for the products listed repeatedly, only the latest products will be retained.

2. If some of the products on the shelves are sold, the products that have been sold will be retained and the products that have not been sold will be deleted.

3. If all the products listed repeatedly have orders, all products will be retained.

4. Platform Processing

1. After Shopee identifies duplicate products, it will push information to the affected sellers, requiring them to remove the duplicate products within 3 days.

After 2 or 3 days, Shopee will recheck whether the duplicate products have been removed from the shelves. If they have not been removed from the shelves, the Shopee platform will delete the duplicate products uniformly.

What to do if a product is banned from sale

• The most common reason for a product to be banned is the wrong Category. Sellers are advised to search for similar products on Shopee Mall and make modifications based on their categories, then click “update” and resubmit for review.

• Log in to your account on your mobile phone to see the specific reasons why each product is banned, or provide the product ID to consult your merchant manager for the specific reasons.

• If your product is banned/removed, it may be because you have violated Shopee regulations or the product is a prohibited item.

Reasons why the product cannot be uploaded or modified

1. If the product meets the following conditions at the same time, it will not be able to be uploaded or modified (including batch modification):

- The product title is identical to other products in the store (regardless of the order - even if the order is different but the words are exactly the same, it is considered a duplicate title)

- The product cover image is the same as the cover image of other products in this store

a. If the seller uses the same URL to upload, it will be considered a duplicate image.

b. If the seller uploads the same image using different URLs, the system will determine whether it is a duplicate image.
