What is Reach Certification? Reach Certification Review
Reach certification is the abbreviation of "Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals". This is the relevant regulations and requirements on chemical registration evaluation and authorization restrictions promulgated and implemented by the European Union in 2006. REACH certification stipulates that EU manufacturers or importers need to report to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) if the concentration of very high concern substances (SVHC) in the product exceeds 0.1%, and the total amount of this substance contained in each producer/importer's product exceeds 1 ton/year. Chinese Chemical Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction Full name Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals Officially took effect on June 1, 2007 Officially implemented on June 1, 2008

Regulations

The EU began to implement the Regulation on Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (hereinafter referred to as REACH Regulation) on June 1, 2008. Registration is the most important obligation under this Regulation. After a company successfully submits the registration dossier of a chemical substance to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), it will receive an 18-digit registration number. Companies that fail to complete the registration before the corresponding deadline will not be able to continue to put the corresponding products on the EU market.

Requested content

The main content of REACH is to require proof that daily-use products do not contain harmful chemicals. Therefore, all daily-use products produced in the EU or imported into the EU market, mainly textiles, must pass the registration, inspection and approval of the content of harmful chemical substances. Once the content exceeds the prescribed level, they cannot be sold in the EU market.

Scope of application

Chemicals, alloys, plastics, semi-finished products, accessories, toys, furniture, cosmetics, stationery, pigments, paints, glues and detergents, textiles and clothing, footwear, leather products and accessories, electronic and electrical products and other products such as household goods, leisure and sports goods, etc.

c. Allow substances to move freely on the EU market.

d. Strengthening innovation and competitiveness of the EU chemical industry.

e. Promote the use of alternative approaches to assess hazardous properties of substances, such as quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) and readout.

f. Scope and Exemptions.

REACH applies to substances manufactured or imported into the EU in quantities of 1 tonne or more per year and, in general, it applies to all individual chemical substances by themselves, in preparations or in articles (if the substance is released under normal and reasonably foreseeable conditions of use of the article).

Purpose of REACH implementation

Protect human health and the environment, maintain and improve the competitiveness of the EU chemical industry; increase the transparency of chemical information; reduce vertebrate animal testing; be consistent with the EU's international obligations under the WTO framework; in essence, REACH will create a unified chemicals management system within the EU, enabling companies to produce new chemicals and their products in accordance with unified principles.
