What is SGS certificationSGS certification refers to the service provided by SGS for the conformity certification of targets according to standards, regulations, customer requirements and other conditions. To carry out relevant certification, it is necessary to go through inspection, testing, identification, certification and other means (SGS certification itself is not a certification, but refers to the certification service of SGS). In short, SGS certification is the conformity certification or testing service provided by SGS for products or organizations according to the standards, regulations or customer requirements of a country, and the certificate or report issued by SGS. To apply for SGS inspection, please follow the following procedures1. Export transaction. The exporter reaches an export transaction with the importer according to normal trade procedures. The importer then notifies the SGS liaison office in the country of the transaction and informs the exporter that SGS-CSTC is required to inspect the goods. After receiving the notification (inspection number) from the SGS liaison office in the importing country, SGS-CSTC faxes (mails) a blank inspection application form (RFI) with "SGS inspection number" (IONO.) and SGS-CSTC "ICN" number to the exporter, notifying the exporter to submit documents and arrange inspection. 2. Apply for inspection. To arrange the inspection, the exporter needs to fill out the Inspection Application Form (RFI) with the SGS inspection number and fax (send) it together with the following documents to the SGS-CSTC branch closest to the inspection location. These documents include pro forma invoice, pro forma packing list and spare parts list, product technical specifications, samples, letters of credit, manufacturer's test report (machine/equipment), manufacturer's analysis report (chemical/pharmaceutical/petroleum/dye products), health certificate (food), plant quarantine certificate (all agricultural products), factory inspection analysis sheet (all steel materials and their primary products). All documents submitted to SGS-CSTC must indicate the SGS inspection number (this number can be found in the inspection application form). The supplier's detailed information, such as contact person and telephone number, inspection time, inspection location, etc., should be listed on the inspection application form so that SGS-CSTC can contact them and arrange inspection. The exporter must submit the RFI and the above documents to SGS-CSTC branch 3 working days before the inspection date. 3. SGS-CTSG conducts inspection. SGS-CSTC does not charge any fees to exporters for pre-shipment inspection required by CISS national regulations. 4. Final documents required for SGS-CSTC to issue the certificate. After SGS-CSTC completes the inspection, the exporter must fax (send) the final documents to SGS-CSTC Shanghai Economic Affairs Department (EAD) by country. All documents submitted to SGS-CSTC should indicate the SGS inspection number (this number can be found in the inspection application form). 5. How to obtain the SGS safety label. If the letter of credit received by the exporter requires "a SGS security label on the exporter's invoice", the exporter can submit a final export invoice to the nearest SGS-CSTC branch and pick up the security label, or ask SGS-CSTC to mail the security label to the exporter. Please note that SGS-CSTC will only issue the security label after completing the above 1-4 procedures. References |
