Amazon Transparency, also known as the "Amazon Transparency Program", is a project launched by Amazon to suppress follow- selling . It tracks inventory data from manufacturers to end users, distinguishes between genuine and counterfeit products, and thus protects consumer rights. About Amazon Transparency When a seller joins the "Transparency Program", their products will be affixed with a "Transparency Label" (a blue T label) and receive an encrypted 26-digit alphanumeric code - a digital code similar to UPC or EAN, which can generate a unique QR code that corresponds to the seller's SKU. Amazon will scan the QR code provided by Transparency to verify the authenticity of the received items. By scanning the "Transparency Label", buyers can trace the product's production address, production date, ingredients, and material sources. Sellers who follow or counterfeit products cannot forge this QR code, thereby achieving the purpose of preventing follow-up sales. Amazon launched the Transparency program in beta in March 2017. The program is free for the first six months and costs between 1-5 cents per QR code. Application conditions for the Transparency Scheme 1. You are the brand owner of the product; 2. Successfully complete brand registration 2.0 (the trademark requirement for successful brand registration on Amazon is the R mark); 3. You can apply a unique Transparency code to each of your products. Operation Process 1. After the application is successful, register the product in Transparency; 2. Apply each unique Transparency code to the product; 3. Enter the Amazon warehouse to scan the Transparency code; 4. Use the Transparency APP to verify authenticity and obtain product information. cost The cost of the Transparency Program is mainly spent on purchasing QR codes, which can be divided into the following three situations: 1. One-time purchase quantity < 1 million, $0.05 per piece; 2. 1 million pieces<one-time purchase quantity<10 million pieces, 0.03 USD/piece; 3. One-time purchase quantity > 10 million, $0.01 per piece. Advantages 1. Prevent copycat sales After sellers join the Transparency Program, they can get an identifier from Amazon, which is an encrypted 26-digit alphanumeric code that can generate a unique QR code. These QR codes correspond to the SKUs, and sellers of follow-selling or counterfeit products cannot forge such QR codes, thereby achieving the purpose of preventing follow-selling. 2. Fight against counterfeiting When products enter the warehouse, Amazon will perform a Transparency scan to ensure that all products that pass the Transparency scan are authentic. 3. Information transparency Through Transparency, sellers can share detailed product information with buyers, including production date, production location, raw material ingredients, etc., to ensure full information transparency, help sellers gain buyers' trust, and also increase brand awareness. |
