Amazon's peak season is officially over! Sales are bleak

This Christmas will probably be an unforgettable one for many people. The celebration has ended before it even began.

In fact, Amazon’s peak season sales this year are indeed not that optimistic!

Many sellers are complaining that their sales in the past few days are less than 10% of last week, and some sellers say that they are lucky to have 10%, and currently only about 3%-5% of last week. Most sellers complained that Christmas Day was miserable:

“I’ve pressed so many F5 buttons on my keyboard that they are all worn out. The only thing that changes on the page is the order date.”

"I don't know about you guys, but I'm fine. The store only had 2 fewer orders today than yesterday. Yesterday we had 3 orders."
"You never expected it, everyone, tomorrow's sales will always be the lowest."
Many sellers analyzed that there are some objective reasons why the Christmas peak season ended early this year:

1. This year, many promotional activities have been brought forward, and the discounts for Black Friday and Cyber Monday have also been brought forward. Foreign netizens should buy early if they want to, and there is no need to wait until now.

2. Amazon's massive layoffs this year have slowed down the warehouse and delivery speeds. In addition, many employees have started taking holidays since early December. Most of the orders placed on the 20th in the US site this year could not be delivered before Christmas. Many Americans also said: "If you see the delivery after Xmax sign, just wait until after the holiday."

3. The United States and Canada are experiencing a snowstorm that occurs rarely in a century. The extremely low temperature and deadly cold wave have swept all the way from the south to Canada, freezing most of the United States. Due to the cold wave and other factors, Amazon, which usually delivers orders every other day, can no longer guarantee delivery within 4-5 days. Logistics and distribution are hindered, and sales are even more terrible!

The early promotion and logistics obstruction may be the reasons for the dismal Christmas Day order volume! In fact, this is normal. Just look at the ranking of the large and small categories on your product listing page.

Although the sales of most products have declined, the BSR ranking of small categories has hardly changed. This means that it is not just you who has declined, but everyone in the category has declined. So although your sales have declined sharply, your position in the category has not changed.

The dust has settled on how much sales and profit the store will have this year, how much revenue and expenditure the company will have this year, and how much commission and bonus the operators will receive this year.

The most important task is no longer to expect sales, but the following:

1. Clear inventory

Many sellers miscalculated sales during this peak season, resulting in a large amount of unsalable inventory in the FBA warehouse. These inventories must be cleared immediately. The less loss on unsalable inventory, the more profit. In addition, Amazon has introduced a variety of overdue storage fees for unsalable inventory. When you receive the bill, you will realize how slow you are in clearing inventory.

2. Do a review

After Christmas, the peak season ends. If this year’s operating results do not satisfy you, will you continue to live in confusion like this year?

Of course not, so it is very important to review your operations. Review your own operational methods in the past year, which ones are effective and which are ineffective, which ones should be continued and copied, and which ones are well received but not popular, or which ones are losing money but gaining publicity. These must be analyzed and reflected upon in depth.

3. Prepare for next year’s product development

Amazon sellers survive on their products, so they need to make good product plans for next year. Whether to continue this year's product route, or to continue to expand to the surrounding areas, to develop vertically, or to advance vertically, these are all issues that Amazon sellers need to think about at the end of the year. It will be a bit late to think about these issues in the spring of next year.
