My C position

Let me talk about my current situation first. I have been working in a small company of 4 people of my relative for almost a month. The copywriting, pictures and advertising words are all ready, but the goods have not arrived yet, so I am quite idle these two days. It is really difficult to adapt from the lively office atmosphere of my previous company full of peers to this depressing atmosphere where I speak less than 10 sentences a day. I am also a talkative player in the prime of my youth, but the prices and rents are low and the income is considerable, so I will continue to work.

When I first started reviewing, I found some foreigners’ contact information on INS. I’ve been browsing INS more frequently recently, and I was so envious of the posts they posted about their daily lives that I began to look forward to my future life.

I came to Shenzhen in March last year when I was about to graduate. Although I gained 10 pounds in two months, I still don’t feel happy or a sense of belonging. It stands to reason that I should be able to adapt well to life with a wide range of interests and hobbies, but it is really hard to find like-minded friends. I want to play basketball, but I can’t find anyone to play with. I want to go fishing recently, but I can’t find a good place. I want to get a massage, but I can’t find a good-looking technician. I want... (I can’t think about it anymore. If I think about it again, I won’t be able to post this post)

Suddenly I recalled my first interview in Shenzhen. A 30-year-old gentle-looking AliExpress boss asked me what was my impression and evaluation of Shenzhen? My heart skipped a beat. Sir, there is no such question in the question bank. Fortunately, I reacted quickly and praised Shenzhen, saying that it has rapid development, a large population, a high GDP, and is China's largest foreign trade city. The interviewer smiled with satisfaction after listening to me, and supplemented the points that I didn't praise. The next day, he said to me that he was sorry that he was not suitable for our company. (Here is a beautiful Chinese with a small amount of English, you can imagine it yourself) I still don't understand the meaning of asking this in an interview. Is his father the mayor?

Before I knew it, I had been a monk for half a year and had been in Shenzhen for more than a year. Shenzhen is indeed full of opportunities, but it is also full of traps. The formulaic two-point line and the fast-paced nine-to-six work make people's state stay above survival and below living. If I meet that interviewer again, I will say: Shenzhen, it's just so-so, and by the way, ask if his father is the mayor. Shenzhen, perhaps as Mr. Lu Xun said in "Fortress Besieged", people outside the city want to come in, and people in the city really know how to have fun.

Let me talk about my plan. I will try to be independent and enrich myself before I turn 30. After I turn 30, if the company is doing well and the income is considerable, I can consider going back to my hometown to lead a team. If the company has no future, I will go back to my hometown and explore it myself. I still hope that Amazon's market will pick up.

The small urban area can be explored by electric cars, the beautiful river can be fished everywhere, a basketball ring can be easily formed with three or four teams, barbecue can be done in the yard, and three or five friends can have a drink, chat and play mahjong. It's quite emotional. Such a simple life seems to have become a luxury.

Compared to the socializing style in Shenzhen where everyone is separated by a wall of hearts, I am still used to walking on the streets of my hometown, and an acquaintance handing me a cigarette: Cousin, would you like some food?

After working in Shenzhen for 2 years, I returned home penniless after learning about the Amazon situation back home.

When I just graduated, I came to Shenzhen for campus recruitment. I didn’t get paid for the first month. Now I can’t understand why I chose to do a job without salary. I got off work at midnight every day, and I didn’t have any colleagues to chat with. I worked for 3 months and was about to be promoted to a regular employee, but I couldn’t stand the company’s overtime culture and the environment where there was no one to talk to, so I asked to resign.

The boss of my second job went back on his word. The base salary I promised for becoming a regular employee turned into 2 hours of overtime a day. The profit was enough to support the company (the business shared the company's rent, water, electricity, finance and personnel expenses) and the monthly increase was required to meet certain salary requirements. So I left too.

I worked in my third job for a year and a half. It was not very productive, but I was able to earn some money and started to treat myself. But the good times didn’t last long. Something happened at home, so I had to borrow money and start to pay off my debts. I kept squeezing out my living expenses and stayed at home and didn’t shop online.
I finally paid off my debts two months ago and decided to leave Shenzhen and return home to find a job. On the one hand, I wanted to save on rent, and on the other hand, I wanted to spend more time with my family. I don’t have to do housework or cooking after get off work, etc. I won’t tell you about the benefits, haha.

I am generally satisfied with my current job. I have someone to talk to when I get home, and I have friends to meet up with during holidays. My life has become more fulfilling, and I have started to save money.

In the past two years, especially last year, I began to realize how important family and health are. My nose feels sore when I write this. I felt very uncomfortable every day during that period. I hated myself for not being able to contribute money or effort to my family.

Now we have finally gotten through it all. I hope everyone in Shenzhen can make a difference, and those who want to go home can have a happy life.

I would like to ask, when you say you have experience, do you mean experience in making a hit product?

Anonymous user

@YuanJC : I mean the ability to operate, prepare inventory reasonably, do promotional advertising according to the company's support, and maintain continuous sales growth. It is not a big deal to make a hit product. If you don't aim to make a profit, you can sell it at a loss. If you make a profit, whether the product can keep up after the hit, whether it will cause redundancy in the off-season, how long the ranking can be stable, whether competitors will be jealous, etc. will test the operation level even more.

Career planning? In my opinion, with the current first-tier cities and repeated epidemics and many other factors, no one can be sure what their future will be like and whether they will continue to do their current job.

As a worker in Shenzhen, I face the pressure of life and work, and even social interaction is gradually decreasing. My growth rate cannot keep up with the speed of my parents' aging. Some people may say: "Some people can make money, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, or millions of dollars a month." Then I want to ask, is this the case for most people? I have also been in a first-tier city for 6 years. I may be like the original poster. No matter how well I have achieved, I will want to develop in my hometown. I like the local customs and people of my hometown and the slow pace of life.

I still remember that night when I was in a bad mood and went to the pub to drink alone. I was chatting with the boss, and the boss said, "How many 20 years does a person have? The first 20 years are devoted to one's knowledge, study, and school. The second 20 years are devoted to one's career. The third 20 years are more devoted to one's family. Now you are 60 years old. Do you think you can rest assured to take your pension and live in retirement? You are wrong. You still have to take care of your grandchildren. Where are the 20 years you left for yourself to really live? What are you living for?"

I think happiness is enough. You don’t need a lot of money, as long as you have enough to eat, drink and support your family. Everyone has a different world view, outlook on life and values. You can’t ask others to do the same as you do. Just live the life you want. Finally, I hope that all my friends in Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing will have a successful career, smooth work, happiness and health! ~

Planning? In the current environment, I don’t even dare to make a 5-year plan. You just graduated last year, you are still young, and you should work hard while you still have some enthusiasm. In two years, you may have a clearer understanding and plan.

When I just graduated, I wanted to work hard to buy a car and a house, settle down in the frontier, and repay my parents; after a few years, I decided to just run.

A few years after graduation, you will find that most of the students without family backgrounds are still doing well in first-tier cities, and those who return to their hometowns can only make ends meet.
However, the students with family backgrounds have cars and houses, get married and have children, and live a carefree life.

In fact, most of the time I don’t want to be depressed, but as a child from an ordinary family, I always have a sense of powerlessness as an ant, destined to be stamped with a mark of an ordinary and wasted life.

However, life must go on, and an ordinary life still requires one to try one's best.

Dream of 200 orders per day - Xiaobai who dreams of 200 orders per day

As an Amazon rookie, I would like to share my experience.

Last October, I came to Shenzhen and my first job was as an operations assistant with a base salary of 5,000 yuan, working from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm, with two days off. After working for almost three months, I felt that the atmosphere in the company was too depressing.
After all, I like to chat and I don’t want to lose my chatty skills in such a company. In addition, my supervisor asked me to send 50 celebrity emails a day, and I would be paid 50 yuan for not completing it, saying that it was a task to train me.

After working for two days and seeing the deductions every day, I thanked my supervisor and said "I am a dead man in your room", then I embarked on a long interview journey with my meager salary for two months.

Second job,
Thanks to the fact that I left early, with my chatting skills, I successfully stood out from countless interviews and got the job of operations assistant with a base salary of 5,500 per week, working from 9 am to 6 pm. Fortunately, there was a basketball court near the company, and I won the heart of a male colleague with my slightly flirtatious basketball skills. Although I teamed up with that male colleague and was beaten by countless people, I did not feel helpless because I could learn a lot about Amazon from him.

My colleagues are all relatively young, and I am an assistant with few products. In the office, besides being busy eating, I am always thinking about whether to have pork knuckle rice or a bowl of noodles for lunch. Therefore, I personally feel that Shenzhen still has a little human touch (after all, my colleagues will greet their relatives from time to time, which makes me very touched).

When I saw this brother’s post, I fell into deep thought. It has been almost 7 years since I came to Shenzhen. Looking back, I really don’t know what I have gained or lost.

Did he get a relatively decent income? Did he lose his precious youth? But where did the money go? ? Because he stepped on the landmine of Evergrande.

I don’t know how long I can stay here, how long I can hold on? I thought about going back to Wuhan, but when I think about how I really can’t live there, I feel a little unwilling.

Basically I don't have any spare time. I feel a little lonely and emo sometimes. I don't think I will regret it.

Before I came to Shenzhen, I had endless fantasies about first-tier cities. After I came here, I found that with a higher salary than in my hometown and living in a densely populated urban village, it seemed that there was not much difference between it and my hometown...

Before I came here, my plan was to come to a big city to make money and improve my abilities, and then return to my hometown to live happily for the rest of my life. However, the reality is cruel. Amazon seems to be gradually entering a cold winter, and I don’t know whether it can continue in the future. However, my parents are still working hard, so I have to work hard to make money.

I will probably wait until I am about 30 and see the situation and mentality. If it is convenient to move between work and life at 30, I may return to Changsha to open a pet shop or something like that. I have always wanted to be a small shop owner and live in retirement. Although I don’t make much money from work now, I live comfortably by myself. I can feed the whole family and save a little money every month. I like a life without socializing, and I don’t have much desire to compare myself with others.

Born in 1999, 7 years in society, 4 years in Shenzhen, started cross-border business 3 years ago, with a relatively high starting point, I started a company with others, but due to lack of operating experience and poor management, I lost more than 3 million within a year, and started working to pay off my debts, and I have paid off most of it in a year.

I feel that Shenzhen is a city with endless opportunities, but it is also a depressing city.
Shenzhen is the reason for our success and Shenzhen is the reason for our failure.

I would rather work in Shenzhen than go back to my hometown.
Hometown cannot accommodate the body, and foreign land cannot accommodate the soul. Shenzhen is a relatively fair and equal city.

Guagua

When I was leading a team, I often said something to my colleagues. It can be said to be a cake or chicken blood. "If you don't choose to work hard in your 20s, do you have to work hard in your 30s when you have a wife and children to worry about? When you look back at your wife and children, will you still have the urge to work hard, gamble, and win?" It may be a cake, but I eat it very deliciously. For Amazon, the overall industry atmosphere in Shenzhen is better. Although it lags behind in other aspects, I would rather work hard in a small city like Shenzhen than to try to figure it out on my own.

You're talking to me about fairness? Fairness means that we are all young people, and unfairness means that some people have families and some don't.

I came to Shenzhen in April last year, and it has been more than a year now. When I first arrived in Shenzhen, I felt that there were so many young girls on the street, and I fantasized that I could be single... But I am still a single dog; there is no love in Shenzhen, only endless pork knuckle rice, endless overtime work, and endless hair loss.

When I came to Shenzhen after graduation, I thought there were many opportunities in Shenzhen, and I should go out and see more while I am young. I still think the same now. Although I have smoothed my edges after working for a few years, there are really not many job opportunities in my hometown, and the gap is too big if I go back. In comparison, I still choose to develop in Shenzhen, except that the money in Shenzhen is really hard to spend, I still want to make some achievements if I have the opportunity.

I have earned a lot in the past six years in Shenzhen, but it’s not over yet. I feel like I can still fight for another five years, and these five years will be the most outstanding.

I think whether you can succeed depends on your own thinking. Whether you are muddle-headed or go against the current. Anyway, I used to think these things were just chicken soup and corny, but when you stick to it, have more patience than others, can endure more hardships, and work harder, the final result is still great.

Yanyanmomoyuyu - involuntarily in a trance

Oh, I feel so depressed. I also need to talk to someone. I feel so depressed in Dongguan. I don’t know what to do. I am confused about the future. I am 23 this year. Sometimes I really feel that life is meaningless.

Binbinbinbin

I am the same. I look forward to the weekend, but I also dread it. I often have random thoughts when I am alone. I really want to talk to someone. If I don’t play games with friends at home after leaving the office, I will be speechless all day. It is too depressing.

When I go out occasionally on weekends, I am afraid of the aroma of cooking in every household in the evening because it makes me feel lonely.

I would go to a coffee shop and sit there until it closed. I used to think coffee was very bitter, but now I think it is not as bitter as going to work. I would stare blankly at the people coming and going on the street. For a long time, I didn’t know what I liked or what I wanted to do. The talents and ideas that occasionally came to my mind were just like the whims of a child, which were shattered when they encountered reality.

What wakes you up every day is not the alarm clock, but the sense of responsibility of age and the speed at which your parents are aging. They say that it is normal for you to have no achievements in your twenties. But if you are comfortable and still have nothing to show for it at the age of thirty, they will ask, what have you done in the past thirty years?

I have been in Shenzhen for 3 years. All my friends have moved back to their hometowns, but I still insisted because I am afraid that the comfortable environment in my hometown will be ruined, and my family is not well off (this is the key).

At least in Shenzhen, everyone is working hard to live and make money. I think people’s growth is inseparable from pressure. How much or how little you bear, and how to relieve it, are very important compulsory courses for young people to transition to adults.

Regarding the choice of track. I have always worked for Amazon in Shenzhen. In 2021, I was so upset that I changed my career for half a year. I couldn't accept the gap. I came back in 2022. Amazon has been reshuffled by the epidemic for three years, and it is still doing well, and it is far from being as exaggerated as others say. It is enough to show the resilience of e-commerce. Let's bet on this track for another two years. (Mainly no overtime, the salary is also good, and I can slack off occasionally)
