It is learned that according to foreign media reports, Amazon recently plans to open new delivery stations and career centers in Maryland and Virginia to expand its e-commerce business in the Mid-Atlantic region.
The first delivery station to be opened is located in Baltimore, covering an area of 72,000 square feet. This is Amazon's first delivery station in Baltimore. At the same time, they will also open a 194,000 square foot delivery station in Maryland, which will be Amazon's third delivery station in the city.
Since 2010, Amazon has created more than 29,000 jobs in Maryland and invested more than $9.5 billion in total.
Amazon will also open a career center and two new delivery stations in Virginia. The center will be used for recruiting and mentoring at the company's Hampton Roads operations. In addition, the company will open two new delivery stations in the region, one in Norfolk (165,000 square feet) and one in Hampton (111,600 square feet).
Amazon has added more than 27,000 jobs to Virginia since 2010, with 15 delivery stations across the commonwealth.
