Walmart will open a second high-tech integration center to improve supply chain operation efficiency!

Walmart will open a high-tech integration center in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, according to foreign media reports. The new center covers an area of 400,000 square feet and has the most advanced automation technology, which can increase Walmart's package processing efficiency by 3 times. Walmart plans to recruit 1,000 employees for the center.

According to reports, this is the second high-tech integration center opened by Walmart in the supply chain. The first one is located in Colton, California, and opened in 2019. This integration center will be responsible for receiving goods from suppliers, integrating them into freight vehicles, and then sorting the goods after they are delivered to the center before being delivered to stores.

Walmart said that the biggest benefit for suppliers is that now, goods from different regions can be shipped together instead of having to be shipped one by one.

Mike Gray, senior vice president of Walmart supply chain operations, said: "We have been investing in our people, facilities and technology to ensure that we can complete deliveries in a timely, safe, fast and correct manner. In the future, the integration center in Pennsylvania will serve more small and medium-sized suppliers, enabling them to provide products to 4,700 stores across the United States."

Walmart senior vice president David Guggina said Walmart is creating a modern supply chain system that combines the latest software and automation technologies with its workforce to subvert people's perception of the supply chain.

Walmart has been expanding its automated supply chain network for receiving, sorting and shipping goods. The new high-tech integration center will inject more power into the retail giant's supply chain.
