It is learned that according to foreign media reports, on October 13, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of Magic Chef air fryers sold on major websites such as Amazon and Walmart. The reason for the recall is that the product may overheat during use, causing the risk of fire and burns. The recalled Magic Chef air fryers are approximately 13 inches by 15 inches by 14 inches in size and come in two models: MCAF56DB (black) and MCAF56DW (white). The words "Magic Chef" are printed on the top of the product, and the brand name and model are printed on the white label at the bottom. The report said that the air fryer was produced in China and imported into the United States by Newair. It was sold on Newair.com, Walmart.com, Wayfair.com, Amazon.com and Target.com from July 2018 to September 2020, with a price ranging from US$115 to US$138, and approximately 11,750 units were sold. The remedy for this recall is that the purchaser needs to return the product to Newair for a credit of $50 or more (receipt required). After the recall alert was issued, the CPSC recommended that the purchaser immediately stop using the product and called on consumers not to purchase it. It is learned that since the outbreak of the epidemic in 2020, air fryers that focus on "oil-free cooking" have become popular in the US market. Many Chinese sellers have targeted this business opportunity and actively laid out the air fryer track. A report from Maket Research shows that by 2027, the global air fryer market will reach US$1.3 billion, with huge market potential.
