US Customs seizes $300,000 worth of counterfeit goods! The origin of shipment is China!

It is learned that according to foreign media reports, recently, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials seized 422 counterfeit National Football League (NFL) "Super Bowl" (Super Bowl) NFL championship rings at an express shipping center in Louisville.

The fake championship rings came from China and were destined for a home in Jerseyville, Ill. If the rings were authentic, the manufacturer's suggested retail value would total $300,000.

A CBP official said that after customs identification, the rings were not authentic, they violated intellectual property and trademark regulations and lacked import licenses for such goods.

LaFonda Sutton-Burke, CBP's Chicago District Director of Operations, said that as the Qatar World Cup is underway, criminals are trying to cash in on sports fans, which has led to counterfeit jewelry continuing to flood the U.S. e-commerce market.

The head of the Louisville Port said that as more and more consumers are keen on online shopping, criminals have more opportunities to take advantage of it. CBP will continue to strengthen supervision of imported products, and cracking down on counterfeit products is an effort made by CBP officials to protect consumers and the US economy.

The rapid development of e-commerce has enabled American consumers to easily purchase products on major e-commerce platforms, but it has also made it easier for counterfeit and pirated goods to enter the market. According to reports, American consumers spend more than $100 billion on intellectual property-infringing goods each year, and about 20% of the world's counterfeit goods are purchased by them.
