It is learned that the 2022 Black Friday and Cyber Monday have officially come to an end. According to data from the National Retail Federation, about 166 million people shopped this year, nearly 8 million more than last year. On the other hand, data from Adobe and Salesforce show that online sales in the United States during Cyber Week in 2022 broke a new high, reaching US$68 billion, an increase of 9% over last year. Recently, the three top retailers in the United States reported that online sales set new records in the five days from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday. 1. Amazon While Amazon doesn't release specific sales figures, the retail giant said sales from small businesses on its platform exceeded $1 billion in the five days from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday. Amazon also said that throughout Cyber Week, the best-selling categories were home, fashion, toys, beauty and Amazon devices. The best-selling items were Echo Dot smart speakers, Fire TV streaming sticks and Apple AirPods. Customers purchased millions of Amazon devices, including Echo, Ring, Blink, Kindle and Fire TV. "This was our biggest holiday shopping weekend ever for Amazon, with customers snapping up hundreds of millions of products thanks to our amazing discounts," said Doug Herrington, Amazon CEO. Wayfair Wayfair reported low-single-digit sales growth during Cyber Week this year compared to the same period in 2021 (in the U.S.). Black Friday is the biggest sales day of the year, with Wayfair selling a bedding item every 5 seconds and a vanity or faucet every 13 seconds. Not only that, shoppers bought enough rugs to cover more than 75,000 football fields, enough high stools to line the entire Las Vegas Strip four times, and enough Christmas trees to fill Rockefeller Center’s 845 trees. Wayfair also highlighted that repeat customers accounted for 73% of its weekly online orders, with hundreds of thousands of new consumers purchasing products from Wayfair for the first time. Wayfair CEO Niraj Shah said: "We had another successful holiday season this year as we focused on driving customer and supplier loyalty. Our order values also increased as prices increased. Cyber Week will drive our overall sales in November." 3. Ace Hardware Ace Hardware also reported record online sales from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday, with unprecedented growth in sales on Black Friday and Cyber Monday due to strong demand for grills, smokers, electric lawn mowers and snow blowers, and power tools. The retailer saw a 45% increase in Black Friday sales this year and a 33% increase in Cyber Monday sales compared to 2021. Overall, Ace Hardware's online sales for Cyber Week were up 33% compared to the same period in 2021. Bill Kiss, head of e-commerce at Ace Hardware, said: "We saw strong sales growth during Cyber Week as we strive to provide our customers with the best service, quality and convenience. In the future, we will increase our investment in online and omni-channel shopping to make it easy for customers to shop at Ace Hardware ."
