It is learned that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recently recalled the metal mugs included in Starbucks' 2023 holiday gift boxes because they posed a risk of burns and tears. It is understood that the recalled products involve four Starbucks gift sets, which contain metal-coated, Starbucks-branded mugs in sizes of 11 ounces and 16 ounces. Between November 2023 and January 2024, approximately 440,500 pieces were sold at Target, Walmart online stores, offline stores, and Nexcom retail stores, priced at approximately US$10-20. So far, this product has caused 12 incidents of cups overheating or breaking, resulting in 10 injuries, including 9 severe burns to the hands and 1 finger cut. The CPSC said consumers should immediately stop using the recalled mugs and return the product to the place of purchase or contact Nestle USA for a cash or gift card refund. Consumers can visit Nestle USA https://www.nestleusa.com/info/contact-us-landing , upload a photo of the mug or gift set identification code, and fill out a form to receive a full refund without providing proof of purchase.
