Bicycle helmets sold at Walmart are urgently recalled by CPSC! Violation of federal safety regulations

It is learned that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recently announced the recall of bicycle helmets sold by Nerf Barrage due to the risk of head injuries.

It is understood that the recalled products are Nerf Barrage Youth bicycle helmets. The helmet is blue/orange in appearance, with black straps and orange buckles, and the size is medium (M). The words NERF are printed in white on the side of the helmet, and the model number 6011 is printed on the inner label. The recalled products only include helmets with batch number BC01BJ01-200623 and reference number 5382-BL and batch number BC01BJ01-111521 and reference number 4970-BL.

About 6,500 of the products were sold at Walmart stores and Walmart.com nationwide between January 2022 and May 2024 for about $30. The CPSC noted that the helmet does not meet the mandatory federal bicycle helmet safety regulations regarding the fixing system and may not protect the wearer from head injuries in the event of a collision.

The CPSC said consumers should immediately stop using the recalled helmets and contact Todson Inc. for a full refund. To receive a refund, consumers should destroy the helmet by cutting the straps, email a photo to the recall company [email protected], and dispose of the recalled helmet after submitting proof of destruction. Todson is currently contacting all known purchasers directly.
