As the International Consumer Electronics Show approaches, more than 1,000 Chinese companies face US visa challenges

Recently, according to foreign media reports, the annual international technology event CES (Consumer Electronics Show) will be held in Las Vegas, USA, and more than a thousand Chinese technology companies plan to participate in the exhibition and showcase their latest products. Although many Chinese company employees have received invitations to participate in the exhibition, they have been rejected when applying for US visas.

Since its first launch in 1967, CES has become one of the world's largest and most influential technology exhibitions, attracting technology companies and innovators from all over the world. This year's exhibition will be held from January 7 to 10, and it is expected to have about 4,000 exhibitors, of which more than 30% are from China.

However, as trade tensions between China and the United States intensify, many Chinese companies are facing stricter visa scrutiny. Several companies said that although they have received formal invitations from CES organizers, their employees have not been able to successfully obtain visas to the United States. Some Chinese exhibitors said that they clearly mentioned that they would attend the CES exhibition when submitting their visa applications and presented invitation letters, but they were still denied visas. This is the first time that CES has seen large-scale visa denials.

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA), the organizer of CES, said that they have learned that some Chinese exhibitors' visa applications have been rejected, and called on the US government to speed up the review of such business visa applications to ensure that legitimate business travel can proceed smoothly. The Chinese Embassy in the United States also called on the US side to reduce visa and entry policy barriers and provide more convenience for exchanges and cooperation between the two countries' enterprises and technology communities.
