8 Ways to Get a Safe Review on Amazon (Including Best Sellers)

8 Ways to Get a Safe Review on Amazon (Including Best Sellers)

As we all know , reviews are a key factor influencing consumer decisions; positive reviews can make Amazon sellers popular , while negative reviews can bring down Amazon sellers, sentence new products to death, and even affect store performance.

Reviews are one of the biggest drivers of customer sales. 90% of customers read buyer reviews and make purchasing decisions based on them.

Whether it is clearing inventory or launching new products, enough positive reviews are the key to getting orders. In 2021, the number of brands that fell due to non-compliant invitation reviews (manipulation of seller reviews) is too numerous to count. Amazon officials also issued two statements for this: they will severely crack down on and eliminate false/rewarded reviews!

The tightening of platform policies has brought about another cold winter for sellers who violate regulations, and many rumors have also emerged about how to obtain reviews.

Today, we will share with you a safe, compliant and effective method for obtaining Amazon reviews based on the operational experience of senior overseas sellers.

A safe and compliant way to invite reviews on Amazon

Trust Amazon’s own follow-up system

Amazon has a comprehensive post-sale system for following up with buyers who have purchased a product. These automated emails encourage shoppers to leave reviews and report any issues with the product.

Normally, Amazon will only send product review request emails to sellers. However, we can use Amazon Request a Review

Use Amazon's [Request Review]

Amazon's [Request Comment] button allows sellers to send an automated follow-up email to buyers between 4 and 30 days after a purchase.

Again, Amazon only allows us to send a review request once. However, combined with the first email Amazon sends after a purchase, it greatly increases our chances of getting a review.

In fact, when looking at Amazon product listings two weeks before and two weeks after the launch of the “Request a Review” button on March 8, 2020, JS data* showed that the average review increased by 3.6 compared to before the button was added.

For the 94.7% of sellers who used “Request Reviews,” the average increase in the number of reviews jumped to 25.9.

The only drawback of this function is that it cannot be clicked in batches, and sellers with a large number of orders may be dizzy from clicking.

Amazon Vine Program

Sellers who have registered their brands and have less than 30 reviews can sign up for the Amazon Vine program. Currently, the Vine program is still free for third-party sellers, so...

The above three methods are provided by the Amazon platform to obtain more product reviews. Of course, there are more ways to obtain reviews that are not provided by Amazon on the market.

Other Ways to Get Product Reviews

Third-party email reply system

method

In addition to Amazon’s internal automatic replies, many sellers use third-party email reply systems to send messages through Amazon’s seller messaging system.

It’s important to note that Amazon strictly limits the number and types of messages that can be sent through its seller messaging system.

Basically, sellers can only send "allowed messages" to request reviews/feedback or returns, etc. No more shipping status updates,

Using Product Inserts

In the recent cleanup sale, there were rumors that they were banned for using product inserts to get reviews, and that Amazon had developed a way to detect product inserts, etc. Many sellers are afraid to put product inserts anymore.

In fact, you can put product inserts (thank you cards, gift certificates, after-sales cards), as long as:

  • You can’t just ask for positive reviews;

  • We cannot ask buyers to contact us before giving negative reviews;

  • Cannot be combined with gifts to encourage/manipulate reviews;

  • You cannot bypass the Amazon sales process or direct buyers to websites outside of Amazon (independent websites, other platforms, etc.).

Reduce negative reviews
Ensuring the quality of products and services is the most basic condition for obtaining good reviews. Reducing negative reviews can also increase our good reviews. For negative reviews, what we need to do is to discover them in time, follow up in time, and properly resolve them.

Amazon has allowed sellers to directly contact buyers who gave negative reviews below 3 stars. For specific operation methods and precautions, please refer to the previous article

Do off-site promotion

Many sellers go to some deal platforms and discount websites to launch new products. Because these websites offer money-saving promotions, some buyers feel obligated to leave positive reviews or feedback for Amazon sellers.

But remember, these promotional platforms cannot ask buyers for feedback in exchange for products. Therefore, it is not always possible to get a good review for a heavily discounted or free product.

The above are 8 ways to get Amazon product reviews in 2021. As the policy changes, we will update it regularly so that all seller friends can pay attention.
