Attention! Sellers who have received a new warning from Amazon!

Amazon has recently stepped up its supervision of violations.

As a result, many sellers received email warnings from the platform.

The email clearly stated that the platform has detected that some sellers or their agents are attempting to adjust or replace a specific ASIN with a new ASIN that does not match the product represented by the current ASIN. This behavior is usually called refurbished listing .

The notice emphasized that this is an illegal behavior on the Amazon platform , and if such problems are found again, the account and store will be blocked .

What is a refurbished listing?

Renovating a listing is like taking advantage of Amazon ’s “loophole” by replacing the product’s ASIN with another one, while leaving everything else unchanged. In this way, an existing old link can be refurbished into a brand new link, and Amazon’s computer recognition system will identify it as a new product.

Benefits of refurbishing links:

Renovating the listing can also remove all reviews of the old link, thereby achieving the purpose of removing negative reviews while ensuring that the product ranking and weight are not affected.

The listing was removed from the shelves for various reasons, but FBA still has inventory. In order to save the cost of moving the inventory, the listing was refurbished to another SKU.

If a new product listing receives negative reviews, you can use refurbished listings to remove the negative reviews.

The new product has been delayed due to various reasons, and the "new product traffic support period" is reactivated by refurbishing the listing.

Common ways to refurbish your listing

Although refurbishing listings may help sellers increase sales in the short term, this method actually

There are huge risks

There are two common ways to refurbish listings on the market:

One is to open a case for renovation. When the seller submits many case requests intensively in a short period of time, the system may regard this as an abnormal operation behavior.

Such behavior may cause Amazon to suspect that the seller is attempting to circumvent platform rules, manipulate data, or engage in other improper behavior.

Another method is to change ASIN attributes. Frequent and large number of requests to merge ASINs or modify ASIN attributes are submitted in a short period of time.

Amazon may regard this behavior as a violation of the principle of product information accuracy and take corresponding punitive measures.

Amazon has strict requirements, and refurbished listings will be considered violations of "improper use of variations" or "lack of accurate information."
