The email introduced that Amazon UK will use Amazon Payments Service (provided by Amazon Payments UK Limited, APUK for short ) to completely replace the existing payment methods of sellers on the UK site this year.

And this replacement does not require confirmation from the seller

If the seller does not object or take other actions, Amazon will assume that the seller has accepted the terms of APUK . The seller must complete the change of payment method within 60 days after receiving this email.

Amazon backend will automatically create an APUK payment account for the seller and replace it directly.

Although it is not directly stated, what will happen to sellers who want to continue selling in the UK if they do not use APUK.

But we can find clues in the content of the email

If the seller wants to maintain the current sales status, he should do nothing and wait until Amazon completes the replacement. In other words, sellers who do not want to use APUK will not be able to maintain the current sales status, and their stores may be restricted by Amazon in the future!

Amazon is now a large company with its tentacles covering everything from warehousing and logistics to self-operated sales. In its quest for the next profit growth point, Amazon made such an attempt on the UK site, apparently eyeing the fat piece of meat of payment .
