Breaking news! The new US policy will affect all Amazon sellers!

Although we actively seek cooperation and win-win results, the United States still raised its additional 10% tariff on $200 billion worth of products to 25% on May 10, officially starting a new round of trade frictions between the two sides.

Before the consultations on the 10th, Trump made a big statement that the increase in tariffs on $200 billion worth of products was just an appetizer, and that punitive tariffs would be imposed on another $300 billion worth of Chinese imports.

If it was just to put some pressure on the negotiations on the 10th, then everyone would just listen to such harsh words. But just after the negotiations ended on the 10th, when the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) announced that the tariff would be increased from 10% to 25%, it also released a bombshell news.

In the previous batch of 200 billion US dollars of tariffs, not many sellers were directly affected. Most of them were electronic products, semi-processed products or raw materials, etc. There were not many cases of taxation in the retail sector.

However, raw materials and other products that have little to do with cross-border sellers have already been taxed in the previous wave. Could it be that the 300 billion products in this wave are all retail goods involving the most sellers?

Don’t worry, this list will not be implemented immediately. In this document, USTR stated that it will conduct extensive opinion collection and hearing processes on this decision.

However, this opinion collection period is very short, much shorter than previous periods for collecting opinions on China’s taxation. The hearing was held on June 17, just one month later.

And stakeholders participating in the hearing must prepare and submit relevant materials to USTR before June 10.

With such a large-scale taxation, and almost all of the goods involved are goods that Americans buy in their daily lives, American consumers and entrepreneurs must be devastated at this time, and want to protest to prevent this policy from being implemented.

But even if they want to oppose the resolution at the hearing, it will be very difficult. The USTR sets the comment period so short that it does not give opponents time to prepare materials.

And even if entrepreneurs and consumers strongly object at the hearing, based on what has happened in the past, the Trump administration will still implement its policies as it pleases.

Now the domestic criticism in the United States has not been able to stop Trump from raising tariffs. It is obvious that public opinion and the voice of the people have little effect on this US government.

To let the United States know how serious the consequences will be if it implements this policy, only our government can do it. A wave of punitive tariffs will make Trump wake up.

Just last night, the State Council Tariff Commission issued an announcement that it would impose phased tariffs on US imports worth US$60 billion . The well-known News Broadcast also broadcast this news simultaneously.
