Store performance is crazy over the limit?! Amazon explains


Yesterday I told you about USPS’s recent capacity recovery. The current problems caused by USPS’s warehouse overflow are not just slow delivery and warehousing. The backlog of goods and orders has caused serious bugs in USPS’s order system.


Recently, some sellers have reported that because FBA was out of stock, they used self-delivery and follow-selling to continue placing orders. After the goods entered the warehouse, a large amount of multi-channel delivery was done, but some of these orders had serious tracking problems, which caused their tracking performance to plummet.

After carefully studying the problematic orders, some sellers found that the orders without tracking were all delivered by USPS. Recently, Amazon officially confirmed this situation, and it was indeed due to the system coordination problem between Amazon and USPS that some USPS orders had no tracking.


It turns out that the USPS codes that are not tracked mainly start with 95 and 91. Because the code starting with 91 is an expired old code, and the code starting with 95 is only for retail business, so in June, USPS notified Amazon to filter out these two code series.


Therefore, since the mid-year update, Amazon will no longer capture USPS tracking codes starting with these two numbers. However, when sellers are doing self-delivery or multi-channel delivery, USPS may still send codes starting with 91 and 95. If sellers enter these codes when shipping, there will be no tracking information.


It can be said that the seller suffered an unprovoked disaster in this incident. The USPS system assigned the seller a code that should not have been used by the seller. The seller fully complied with the platform's rules but still faced punishment for exceeding performance standards.


Therefore, Amazon also mentioned at the end of the announcement that the Ship-Track team will update the system this week to ensure that the background can capture as comprehensive compliant order numbers as possible, and try its best to ensure that no compulsory measures will be taken against affected sellers.


The USPS's problems are closely related to the surge in Amazon's overall traffic after the outbreak. The large number of orders and backlogs of goods have put tremendous pressure on the USPS's delivery system.
