Recently, Amazon released an announcement in the background to provide third-party sellers with a "Climate Pledge Friendly Program Guide" to help sellers better understand this program and obtain certification of these sustainability standards. It just so happens that recently many people have asked about what the Climate Pledge Friendly Program is. Today I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about this program in detail. The "Climate Friendly Program" is a new program launched by Amazon in September last year. This program can label some products that have passed sustainability certification with unique labels, allowing consumers with advanced climate improvement awareness to have easier access to these climate-friendly products. Products that have joined this program will be given a unique label when displayed on the search page, which is the climate-friendly logo. Click the mouse to see which sustainable certification the product has passed. As shown in the picture above, the green logo is the climate-friendly logo. When you put the mouse on it, the pop-up information shows that the sustainable certification passed by this product is Energy Star. According to Amazon, the climate-friendly products currently available to sellers include groceries, home, fashion, beauty, personal electronics, etc. All products participating in the program will not only be clearly marked in search results and display pages, but also have a dedicated area on the Amazon main site to display these products, which is equivalent to an additional traffic entrance. A proprietary green label promotes conversions, and an additional display position brings traffic, and the entry threshold is not high, which is equivalent to earning these two things for free. So the question is, which sustainable certifications can participate in the climate-friendly program? Detailed conditions for participation in the Climate Friendly Program At the very beginning of the program, there were 19 certifications that could directly join the "Climate Friendly Program", and now it has expanded to 32 certifications, including EnergyStar, Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance, etc. As long as your product successfully obtains one of these certifications, you can join the program. The list of 32 certifications is very long. If you need it, add me to my WeChat ID (zyqmda) to get it. Generally speaking, such sustainable certifications are applied for by product manufacturers, just like QS quality certification, CE certification, etc. If you are a seller in a distributor model, you still need to contact upstream suppliers to understand the certification status in this regard. In fact, among these certifications, there is a hidden benefit for sellers , that is Amazon’s own compact packaging design certification - Compact by Design. Among other sustainable certifications, most require requirements for product manufacturing emissions, performance, sustainable materials, etc., which are difficult to implement. However, Amazon’s own compact packaging design certification is different. As long as you optimize the size of the packaging, reduce the amount of packaging used, or directly switch to more environmentally friendly packaging, you have a chance to pass the certification. It is difficult for traders to modify product processes and materials, but it is completely OK to change the packaging. So if you want to take advantage of the two advantages of the climate-friendly plan, you can first look at the supplier. If there is already a qualified third-party energy-saving certification, you can apply for it after receiving an invitation from Amazon. If the supplier does not have relevant certification, you can try to optimize the outer packaging and apply for the official Compact by Design certification, which can also obtain the energy-saving green label and exclusive page like the third-party energy-saving certification. |
