Good news! Amazon waives long-term storage fees for FBA in 7 more countries!

Amazon has been making trouble recently! First, they kept removing reviews, and the reviews on sellers were not as fast as they were! Secondly, they conducted the entry review, using various methods such as postcard address check and video verification! This made the sellers look depressed!

However, today there is finally good news from Amazon!

Amazon waives storage fees in 7 more countries

Amazon FBA sellers have been hit hard by the company’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Recently, Amazon announced that it will waive long-term storage fees for FBA during the settlement cycle on May 15. This will apply across the EU to inventory stored in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Poland and the Czech Republic.

The new policy comes on top of Amazon's waiver of fees for heavy items (over 15 kilograms) and monthly storage fees in France and Italy in April, where it stopped accepting all but essential orders or halted shipments entirely.

The first was shipping dates being pushed back four or five weeks, after which sales stopped, but still seeing shipping times extended, watching sellers who ship products from their own warehouses win the buy box over FBA offers, and restrictions on replenishing FBA inventory and not being able to get their inventory back through removal orders (currently, Amazon still has some restrictions on FBA warehousing, delivery (and processing removal orders).

Given the damage these restrictions have caused to Amazon sellers’ businesses, Amazon’s decision to waive storage fees for those affected sellers is great news and solves a pressing need for sellers.

Amazon notified as follows:

You can now ship many products to our fulfillment centers, and we appreciate your patience as we adjust our facilities to protect our employees and deliver the priority products our customers need. We are making additional adjustments to our upcoming storage fees to support you during this time.

We are waiving long-term storage fees on May 15 for inventory in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Poland, and the Czech Republic. Although you can continue to create removal orders, there will be delays in fulfilling your requests. Likewise, automatic removals will be delayed.

As previously announced, we will be waiving our monthly storage fees for April for products over 15kg, which we are no longer accepting orders from customers for due to social distancing guidelines. This applies to stock stored in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Poland and the Czech Republic.

Amazon plans to extend French warehouse closure until May 18

Amazon Inc. AMZN -0.4% said Wednesday it plans to extend the closure of its French warehouses until May 18 after two court rulings ordered the U.S. online retailer to limit its delivery activities in the country.

Amazon said “our fulfilment centres are safe” but added: “However, the Versailles Court of Appeal’s overview of potential penalties means that if just 0.1% of the goods not covered by the ruling were handled or delivered, it could result in fines of more than €1 billion per week.”

The Versailles Court of Appeal ruled on April 24 that Amazon should limit its deliveries to health products, food, hygiene products and high-tech gadgets because of the risks posed to its employees by the coronavirus pandemic. Amazon appealed after another ruling came out in mid-April.

Amazon, which has kept its warehouses closed in France since the mid-April ruling, has said the line between essential and nonessential goods was too blurred. It is still shipping from warehouses in some countries neighboring France.

Amazon resumes accepting orders from Israel

It is understood that Amazon resumed accepting orders from Israel last Friday as lockdown restrictions in Israel and around the world began to ease.

In addition to Amazon, British retailer Next has also started accepting orders from Israel after its website was closed for weeks. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said all lockdown restrictions could be lifted by mid-June.

It is reported that on March 22, Amazon suspended most of the goods shipped to Israel and began to focus on necessities for American and European customers. This is a blow to both the Israeli Post and consumers. In addition, Amazon’s free delivery service to Israel for orders over $49, which began in November 2019, has also been suspended.

Amazon Israel officially went online on September 22, 2019, and began providing local delivery services to customers from multiple brands in Israel.

Amazon offers a local delivery program for professional sellers in Israel, with a standard shipping time of 3 to 5 days, or even faster. It also encourages potential sellers to participate in the local delivery program, "Participate in the local delivery program to expand your business and increase sales without charging additional selling fees."
