Recently, some strange things have happened in the cross-border e-commerce circle. In addition, Amazon's front-end and back-end pages have been stuck and unable to load recently. It seems that Amazon is making frequent moves and may be causing trouble again! Product categories are forced to change to major categories A seller posted on the forum that Amazon was recently rectifying the problem of random product category placement, and the category of the seller's product was changed to a large category, and the review sharing of all variants with only one ranking was changed to not sharing reviews and each variant had its own ranking. Due to the category change, traffic dropped sharply and sales also dropped. A case was opened to ask customer service, and the customer service said that it would be more appropriate to put it in that category. The seller speculated that Amazon customer service may be relatively idle recently and began to rectify non-compliant behaviors. And the category change is indeed not an isolated case, many sellers have been affected! My order was changed too. The first customer service refused to change it back. I complained to them and they told me that it was changed... The seller also said that this method has been proven to be effective. You can try to see if it works~ In fact, choosing to upload products in a subcategory related to the product is also a little trick in operation. This way, it is easier to get a good ranking for the product, and even have a better chance of winning the "Best Seller". However, suddenly changing the category will have a greater impact on traffic. If the seller's product is in a compliant subcategory, it is recommended to contact customer service directly to resolve the problem if Amazon forces the change. The account was blocked for following the lead From the Chinese New Year till now, I haven’t heard any rumors about account blocking. I didn’t expect that the first block after resuming work was because of following other sellers! As logistics and factories gradually resumed work, the follow-selling on Amazon became rampant. So, the sellers used software to catch the follow-selling as usual. Unexpectedly, they received an email from Amazon to ban their account!
Judging from the content of the email, Amazon determined that such sellers violated the " Sales Policy and Seller Code of Conduct" , while the sellers said that they only used software to catch copycat sellers... Generally, the methods of buying out inventory and text buy are used to catch up with the sellers on the market. Buying out inventory means using a bulk buyer account to place an order to purchase the products of the copycat sellers, using Amazon's payment pending mechanism to clear out their inventory and then refund the money. So, why does following others’ lead in selling violate the Seller Code of Conduct? Let’s first take a look at what the Seller Code of Conduct is. Seller Code of Conduct 1. Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and all Amazon policies. 2. Maintain current account information. 3. State the truth. 4. Always act in a way that ensures Amazon buyers have a trustworthy experience. 5. Products that may cause harm to Amazon buyers may not be posted. 6. Do not engage in any misleading, inappropriate or disrespectful activities. This rule applies to all activities, including but not limited to: 1. Information in the seller’s account 2. Product information, content or images 3. Communications between the seller and Amazon and between you and the buyer 7. Always act fairly. Unfair behavior includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Behavior that could be considered manipulative or “dumbing down” any buying or selling experience 2. Behavior that could be considered as manipulating buyer reviews, including directly or indirectly providing false, misleading or untrue content 3. Behavior that could be considered an attempt to manipulate Amazon search results or sales rankings 4. Intentionally damaging other sellers, their products, or their ratings I guess Amazon's decision to ban follow-selling software may be related to Article 7, 1 and 4. After all, Amazon itself encourages follow-selling , believing that it can allow sellers to compete with each other and give buyers a profit. Buyers can buy the same products at a lower price, which can retain buyers and form a good cycle, which is also in line with Amazon's "flywheel theory " . However, since using software to simulate manual follow-up sales is similar to using software to fake orders, both simulate buyer accounts and purchasing behaviors , and the security of buyer accounts, payment cards, credit cards, etc. involved cannot be guaranteed. In addition, it is also possible that some sellers use the follow-up selling software to maliciously place orders for competitors’ listings, maliciously attacking sellers and thus harming other sellers and their products. Of course, it is not ruled out that Amazon will directly crack down on the behavior of "buying out inventory and rushing to sell". After all, according to past practice, if sellers use this operation too much and are noticed by Amazon, they will be suppressed and cracked down. It is understood that if you are found to have violated Amazon's Code of Conduct, it will be difficult to recover your account. I would like to remind everyone that it is best to adopt other methods to catch copycat sellers in the near future, so as not to lose your account. (Source: Cross-border Live) |
