Starting from September 2, Amazon may lift shipping restrictions!

Starting from September 1, Amazon UK sellers’ sales commission, FBA (Fulfilment by Amazon) fees and FBA monthly storage fees will increase by 2%.

So is September going to be so brutal at the beginning? Of course not! Starting September 2, Amazon may lift the restrictions on shipping!

On the afternoon of September 1st, a seller in the seller communication group asked directly in the group: Won’t the delivery restrictions start tomorrow? Does anyone have any channels to improve it?

The seller's question seems to have taken the lifting of shipping restrictions on September 2 as a foregone conclusion, and he has begun to seek the next response plan.

Then a seller said in surprise: There will be no restrictions on shipping tomorrow?

Then, in other sellers’ communication groups, a seller posted the following picture↓↓↓

The picture shows: The new FBA policy on September 2: ASIN warehouse restrictions will no longer be enforced. According to the IPI score based on the account, there is a high probability that there will be no shipping restrictions if the score is above 500.

In addition to the screenshots, some sellers even sent out an email, further increasing the credibility of the news.

The email stated:

On September 2, 2020, Amazon Seller Storage Type Quantity Limits (SST-QL) will replace the existing ASIN Quantity Limits (AQL). The new restrictions will determine the storage type of the seller's inventory based on the characteristics of the product. Amazon will announce the details by email on September 2, 2020.

The storage types of Amazon distribution centers are divided into the following forms:

  • Europe/Japan/US: Standard sizes, plus sizes, clothing, and footwear.

  • Canada: Standard size, oversize, dangerous goods.

Sellers can view their Replenishment Limit and Maximum Shipment Quantity on the Inventory Performance page and in the shipment creation workflow above the Storage Monitor. Sellers can also view the storage type for their product categories on the FBA Inventory Expiration page and in the Inventory Expiration report.

Remember that on July 13, Amazon changed the minimum IPI threshold requirement to 500. Sellers below 500 will be subject to storage restrictions from August 16, 2020 to the end of the year.

Now, more than a month has passed since the storage and delivery restrictions were implemented, and many sellers’ listings are now out of stock. If this news is true, it is undoubtedly good news for sellers with an IPI score above 500. After all, the peak season is just around the corner, and having sufficient inventory means the possibility of big sales.

The editor also asked in the seller communication group. Although the sellers have not yet received a notice from Amazon to lift the shipping restrictions, everyone seems to be looking forward to it, waiting for Amazon's official announcement today.

The email above also stated that the new policy will be announced via email on September 2, so sellers can always pay attention to their emails. In addition, you can also check the account operation background after 3 pm today.
