Founded by IAC in 2005, Pronto is a downloadable software application that monitors all user activity on a product page and then displays deals on the same or similar items from other merchants until a better deal is found.

In July 2006, Pronto launched a beta version of its traditional comparison shopping engine website, which was officially launched in September 2006.

In 2009, Pronto.com launched vertical microsites starting with fashion, home and technology, followed by kids and babies.

Pronto.com's first international venture was launched in 2010 with the launch of MegaDeal.jp for the Japanese market.

2011 saw Pronto.com's international expansion into three additional countries, starting with the launch of the German site 'Dealecke.de' in March. This was followed by 'Superprix.com', a site for French users in July, and the upcoming UK site 'DealHop' which will launch in October.
