Impossible Foods Basics

Impossible Foods was founded in 2011 by Patrick Brown, a former pediatrician and professor of biochemistry at Stanford University . Its main product is ground beef made from "plant protein", which is made from textured wheat protein, coconut oil, potatoes and soy hemoglobin (heme) . It has completed multiple rounds of financing so far. In addition to Horizons Ventures, other investors include UBS Group, Microsoft founder Gates and Singapore's sovereign fund Temasek.

Impossible Foods Financing

On July 20 , 2013 , undisclosed investors invested $25 million in Impossible Foods.

In May 2019 , Impossible Foods received a $ 300 million round of financing led by Temasek and Li Ka-shing's Horizon Ventures . "Most of this money will be used for market and scientific research," said Patrick Brown.
