Founder Introduction

Deep Instinct is an artificial intelligence cybersecurity company founded by Guy Caspia and Eli David , two retired veterans of the Israeli Defense Cybersecurity Force " 8200 °". It has offices in Tel Aviv, Israel and San Francisco, USA.

Guy Caspi, the founder of Deep Instinct, once served in the elite technical department of the IDF (Israel Defense Forces). Another founder, Dr. Eli David , is a Ph.D. in computer science from Bar-Ilan University in Israel. He has been engaged in computer chess research for a long time and has published a paper on the use of deep belief networks for malware classification.

How it works

DeepInstinct applies deep learning to network security. The company said that threat detection based on deep learning is different from traditional signature-based methods because deep learning operates more like a human mind. Deep learning systems first need a lot of data to train. Once learned, the system can identify malicious programs, even those it has never seen, thereby achieving the purpose of identifying and responding to zero-day vulnerabilities.

Financing

In July 2017 , Deep Instinct completed its Series B financing with a total amount of US$ 32 million, led by CNTP ( Columbus Nova Technology Partners ), and followed by NVIDIA and Coatue Management .

In July 2017 , US chip giant Nvidia announced the acquisition of Deep Instinct to further strengthen its advantages in the field of artificial intelligence.
