Development History

-In 1968, founder Dick Smith established the Dick Smith brand.

- In 1980, the company had grown to 20 stores and Dick had sold his 60% working share of the company to Woolworths Limited. No less than two years later, he sold the balance to Woolworths, which took full ownership of the company, paying a total of A$25 million.

-In May 2016, Kogan.com acquired the Dick Smith brand and began to take over the business.
