A post-95s girl is here to talk about my own ideas on product selection

When it comes to product selection, I will just share my general ideas:

Generally speaking, there are many tools that are basically enough. Find the product selection tool.

First, you need to understand the hot-selling products on the market. First, analyze: the site's hot words, new product list, sales list, and Amazon backend search terms (brand store backend brand analysis can be downloaded). Then use Google Trends to check the search volume and popularity (you can search Baidu for how to use Google Trends). Not all products can be used. Please note:
1. Whether it is infringement or not, do not touch infringing products. You can search for foreign patents, trademarks, etc. online.
2. Whether certification and review are required. Generally, toys and medical products require more review. You can check it on Amazon backend.
3. Whether it is a dangerous or prohibited item, I won’t say more about this.

Second, go to the Amazon front desk to search for competitiveness. For products in the red ocean, think twice before making a decision.
Competitiveness can be seen from this data:

Third, browse the products of your competitors on the Amazon market, and look at the product features, prices, main pictures, listing dates, good and bad reviews, etc. You can also collect some key keywords at this time. (Don’t forget to use the Keepa plug-in to observe some data changes of your competitors)

Fourth, select several competitor products that are highly ranked and well reviewed, and then use sales monitoring tools (JS, SellerSprite, etc.) to monitor the sales of your competitors.

Fifth, after finalizing 3-5 products, go to 1688 to negotiate prices, compare prices from three different suppliers, and prioritize quality. Then make a profit table, and pay attention to weight and size, because logistics costs are relatively high. (I can’t upload my own profit table, keyword table, and FBA fee reference table~)

Sixth, try out 2-3 products in the early stage. For products that you are not sure about, you can send about 20-30 products to FBA to see how the sales are. Or you can ship by yourself, it depends on your personal choice. For some products that you think have potential, don't hesitate, hurry up to implement it, research, put on the shelves, and ship in one go, and strive to occupy the market as early as possible. Timing is very important.

In general, there are three main factors to consider when deciding whether a product can be made by yourself:
1. Risks: whether the product infringes upon copyright, whether it requires certification, etc. For example, batteries, special liquids, large weight and size, valuables, etc.
2. Cost: First, you need to position yourself. According to your financial strength, how many products should you make in the early stage, how much cost you can invest, and how much profit you want to achieve. 3. Advantages: You need to consider the competitiveness of the product itself, whether there are good factory resources, quality issues, price advantages, etc.

For those who are not very familiar with product selection, product selection is time-consuming and energy-consuming. Product selection requires a little sensitivity to the market. For example, for infringement, you can tell whether it is infringement at a glance. I think 60% of Amazon sales depend on product selection, 30% on operations, and 10% on luck. Product selection is still very important, and quality must also be emphasized.
