Amazon delivery has changed again! Starting February 20, 2025

This year, Amazon once again adjusted its shipping process, and many sellers received notifications stating that starting from February 20, 2025, standard-size products entering FBA will no longer provide the option of partially splitting shipments.

In other words, if you are shipping standard-size items, you will face new choices: either choose “Amazon optimized shipment splitting” or you can only choose “single-point warehousing”.

But don't worry, this change is intended to improve delivery efficiency and make goods arrive faster and more efficiently.

So what are the specific changes?

Shipment splitting options adjustment:

In the past, sellers had the flexibility to split some shipments so they could decide to send them to multiple warehouses based on their needs. However, starting February 20, 2025, Amazon has removed this option.

Amazon optimized shipment split: If you are able to send shipments to multiple US fulfillment centers, you do not need to pay additional inbound placement service fees.

Single point delivery: You can also choose to send the shipment to a designated warehouse, but this will incur certain fees.

Large bulky items can still be split:

For large and bulky items (such as large furniture, home appliances, etc.), you can still choose to split some of the shipments and continue to enjoy the advantages of flexible delivery.

Adjustment of Amazon Logistics Inbound Placement Service Fee

Reduce fees for large, oversized items :

This adjustment also brings good news - the warehousing configuration service fee for large and bulky items has been reduced, with the average cost per item reduced by $0.58. The specific effective date is January 15, 2025.

New product warehouse discount :

For products eligible for Amazon Logistics' New Product Inbound Offer Program (shipments created between December 1, 2024 and March 31, 2025), the inbound placement service fee will be waived for the first 100 new parent ASIN products entering the warehouse.

Pay special attention!

After February 20, 2025: Shipping plans for standard-sized items will no longer display the “Partial Shipment Split” option, and all new plans must select “Amazon Optimized Shipment Split” or “Single Point Shipping.”

Shipment plans before February 20: This change will not affect your submitted shipment plans, so try to complete the created shipment plans before February 20.

To sum up

Amazon's adjustment this time is mainly aimed at improving delivery efficiency and simplifying the delivery process.
Although some sellers may need to adapt to the new splitting and shipping methods, in the long run, this change will make the entire logistics system more efficient.
In the next few months, sellers should remember to pay close attention to changes in shipping plans and adjust strategies in a timely manner to avoid affecting normal shipping due to failure to adapt to new rules in a timely manner.

If you are a seller, please check your existing shipment plans immediately to make sure they are not affected!
