Operation keyword ranking: The application window period of Amazon's black technology is about 3-6 months

At present, I have seen that many companies’ Amazon stores have been warned or closed through this method. Seeing those people’s anxious expressions, I just want to talk about the actual situation of this business. I am a former employee of a service provider that operates keyword rankings. Please don’t search for my company or where I am. I just want to give you some suggestions.

1. The principle of improving keyword ranking:

Through the uninterrupted and frequent operation of countless buyer accounts, the A9 search weight of the specified keywords can be increased and improved. Someone has posted the specific method through WeChat public account a long time ago. I won’t go into details. I don’t want to harm more people, so there is no need to ask this question.

2. Service Provider:

Currently, the major service providers providing this service are mainly in Shenzhen, Xi'an, Chengdu, and Xiamen in mainland China, and mainly in the United States (concentrated in Los Angeles, New Jersey, and Boston), India, Mexico, and Australia. It is certain that these technologies were spread to the mainland from the United States.

3. Differences between service providers:

The principles and methods used are the same, the differences are:

  1. Some service providers simulate the buyer's shopping process better and closer to the real experience;

  2. The IP resources owned by the service provider (how many), the quality difference of IP (not contaminated);

  3. The impact of server configuration quality on operational efficiency;

  4. The quality of system software is very critical. Even if the server and IP issues are resolved, system software is still crucial for anti-correlation and anti-detection.

  5. Many Indians and blacks are very stingy, and there are many areas where resource allocation is not up to par;

  6. The quality of the buyer's account resources, such as the buyer's account age, shopping experience, etc.

Fourth, the real effect, the fifth point is the most critical:

1. In the initial stage, it usually takes about 7 days to push the specified keywords to the homepage. Of course, if it is a very competitive category, such as data cables, mobile phone cases, Bluetooth headsets, speakers and other products, this cycle will be longer and the amount of operations will increase a lot. For this reason, many service providers are unwilling to undertake this type of product keywords.

2. Usually after reaching the homepage, if the daily operation volume remains at a certain level, this word will basically stabilize at the front.

3. If a product can generate sales by just relying on a few keywords, this is definitely beyond expectation. Therefore, it is necessary to invest more keywords and operate more frequently, especially after many people began to master these methods in the second half of 2016, the cost of operation has become higher.

4. But, but, but, this is the most important thing. After many keywords are pushed to the first page, the exposure and click volume continue to increase compared to the normal state, resulting in a conversion rate as low as 0.6% or even lower, while it may be 16% under normal circumstances... As time goes by, the conversion rate is lower and lower than the normal state and lower than expected. What will this lead to? You must know. Therefore, many products that were quickly promoted through this method have increasingly ugly data after experiencing waves of sales peaks.

5. The data is getting worse and worse... Yes, if we look back, we will only see that sales are declining. Is this Amazon's hidden demotion? Yes, yes, although we are a service provider, we are also testing the results of the store. The data below is the real test result data, no doubt about it. Because I left the company on February 4, I can't get the data after that. The products are not Christmas products, but products needed for winter life. In the United States, December, January, and February are the peak months, but if you look at this curve to the end... The daily operation volume continues to increase, the keywords increase, but the orders have been decreasing.

Figure 1 shows the number of operation keywords, from the first 5 to the last 26 words.

Figure 2 shows the exposure conversion rate and click conversion rate data. The conversion rate was quite good before the operation, even reaching over 30%. However, the conversion rate became lower and lower as time went on, which was terrible.

Figure 3 shows the number of exposures and clicks. This data was adjusted downward in the later period due to the decline in conversion rate and order volume, but the result...

Figure 4 is a comparison of the average number of operations and order volume for each keyword (from 5 words at the beginning to 26 words at the end). The more keywords are operated, the more orders are ordered. The products are not Christmas products, but products needed for winter life. In the United States, December, January and February are the peak seasons.

5. Curse: The application window period of Amazon's black technology is about 3-6 months

The application window of any black technology is about 3-6 months before it is blocked by Amazon. Ranking by keyword manipulation was actually used by some big sellers at the end of 2013. After being introduced from the United States, it gradually spread among some big sellers in mainland China in 2014. Then in 2015, some small and medium-sized sellers who were more active in obtaining information began to use it. According to our speculation, there were no more than 70 sellers in mainland China using this method at that time, and basically the sellers had to find ways to solve technical operation problems themselves. By the first half of 2016, it was not widely spread, but it had grown significantly. At that time, our customers had increased fivefold compared to 2015. In order to cope with such rapid growth, the number of servers increased by at least eightfold.

In the first half of 2016, the bugs in these methods did not make Amazon feel that they were a big problem. However, in the second half of 2016, these methods began to spread. We had a very deep feeling that because of the increase in server investment and the installation and debugging of the system, the server configuration in the United States and our system installation department were simply too busy. At the same time, seeing that our peers in this business were frantically promoting this business, as service providers, they all liked to quickly open up the business market they created, so they pushed it hard in the seller circle, and even some pure IT personnel who did not understand Amazon wrote this system to make money. It is conceivable that this system made by people who do not understand Amazon and are not sellers, with only a superficial understanding of Amazon's relevant policies and no deep operational experience accumulation, is self-evidently dangerous.

Just like the violent order-brushing that launched a hit product overnight, when the application scope of any black technology is too wide, too widespread, and too rampant, and in fact, the service provider is too high-profile and greedy, how can Amazon not crack down on it? The technology of violent order-brushing to push hot products has only been popular for about half a year. This has not only attracted the attention of Amazon, but also caused resistance from some law-abiding sellers. Regarding the keyword ranking operation, in mid-2016, a bald Internet celebrity in Shenzhen even wrote directly to Amazon to complain about this black technology. It is said that he is also an IT person. Many people rumored that they were jealous and envious of not making money through this technology and were maliciously retaliating.

According to the problems we encountered in the operation, Amazon has known about this BUG since the second half of 2016, and has begun to take some actions in the system, such as starting to pay attention to buyers with the same IP, frequently adding verification codes, etc. At the end of 2016, finally, many sellers received warning letters from Amazon, and the content was basically the same: manipulating rankings through search methods. Products such as mobile phone cases, films, and aromatherapy machines that use these methods have become the hardest hit areas. During the Spring Festival of 2017, some buyers had their sales rights removed for this reason. It has been exactly six months since our customers exploded in mid-2016. This is a curse, and it seems that no one can resist the fate of black technology.

6. I have resigned from my previous company and would like to share my experience as a participant. . .

Since before the Spring Festival, I have seen sellers who tried to take shortcuts but failed to achieve their goals. I think they also had a hard time during the Spring Festival. I want to tell you that you don’t have to count on using this method to get orders. Just focus on Amazon.

If you are a service provider still doing this, find a way to transform as soon as possible. Your previous company has also begun to turn to other software. This is just like how AMZTRACKER and AMZHELP transformed due to Amazon's policy adjustments. No service provider can have a business that can make a living for a lifetime. Change quickly, just like I changed jobs.
