I have been back for one and a half years and recently joined a development company. I hope my seniors and colleagues can give me some advice. Do all development companies encounter these problems?
I will not go into details about the past one and a half years, my experiences, and my achievements. I have achieved sales of 50,000 to 200,000 USD per month. The only thing I have not done is to turn mediocre data into explosive data against the trend.
question: 1. Currently, I have joined a pioneering company. The company is a leading domestic e-commerce company. It relies on differentiated quality, high pricing, and high quality to make a price difference of about 3 times that of the domestic market. It has achieved half of the top position now. It does not want to increase volume. They have tried the low-price model of increasing volume before, but they could not compete, so they turned to high prices.
2. According to this strategy, foreign e-commerce platforms still have to operate according to domestic thinking, otherwise there is no need to do it. They don’t want to do a business that makes 100,000 US dollars from 100,000 US dollars, but hope to do a business that makes 50,000 US dollars from 100,000 US dollars, with a 50% profit margin instead of 5%-10% Weibo’s profit.
3. In conjunction with this requirement, I actually prepared for it before the interview. Amazon is not a platform that can be run at will. It depends on the actual situation and whether the product really has differentiation points. Only then will there be an opportunity to create premium space at a high price.
4. I don’t know how long I can hold out, and I don’t know how long my boss will hold out, because I realize that if the pioneering company is not in agreement with the boss and the front line is not tight, it will soon be defeated. (Various factors)
status quo: 1. Through the table catalog, you can know what has been done. There are many other similar tables that are not presented. In the first two weeks after joining the company, I was in the process of running-in, analyzing the market, researching categories, and clashing opinions. Finally, I decided (tentatively) on a product as a boutique style for FBA warehouse delivery. I am still not sure whether they will do it or not;
2. There are two bosses. The one who recruited me is the vice president, the second boss. The big boss is in charge of domestic affairs, and the second boss is from the supply chain. As for why he suddenly wants to lead a cross-border team, I guess it’s because the big boss in China tried Amazon’s team twice in 2022 and 2023, both of which ended in failure, and it took about 1-3 months. I don’t know the specific details. I asked, and he only said that the focus is on China. I guess it’s because China is too busy, and the big boss abroad has no time and energy to understand and communicate. He just let it go, and later disbanded without any results;
3. As for why we might break up, on the one hand, my second boss, who was my direct recruit, doesn't trust me that much anymore. After reporting the project status once in the first week and the progress once in the second week, she is now more willing to support the big boss's idea of making profits through FBM self-delivery (6 times the domestic e-commerce pricing). I did a profit analysis and estimated about 30% profit from self-delivery, and the selling price can be 3-10 times higher than the market FBA price. I racked my brains, it's just FBM, you wouldn't dare to do this even in your dreams, right?
4. It's not my bias, but we are in the market. We don't want to compete with others at 9.99$ in price or funds. We are higher than the market price. Based on the company's trust in the product and the stability of quality, we set the price at 29.99$ to try to change the brand directly to the spot and send it out for testing. But 29.99$ is actually a tactful way of saying that I am being tactful. After comprehensive research, our boutique is now priced at 39.99$. The second market price is 25.99$, the third market price is 9.99$, and the fourth market price is 5.99$. (What I am most afraid of is that these low-priced products are all using the same size as mine to grab traffic at low prices. How can I succeed with such a high price?)
5. My second boss said that she has a friend in Xiamen who has made hundreds of millions of dollars by self-delivery and is making a lot of money. She will take me to exchange ideas and learn from her this week (apart from the unique styles, I guess they can be so big because of the accumulated dividends in the early stage. It is also possible that their logistics have been opened up, and the time limit for self-delivery can be shortened to about one week, and the pricing will not be much higher than FBA). (I am very interested in how they did it)
6. How to do it: My approach can only revolve around two points. The first is to believe that there is no problem with the quality of the company's styles. The second is to find a way to amplify the differentiation of the company's products and make it visually clear enough for customers to feel that our products are indeed worth $40 and are really not of the same quality as those "street goods".
Future: No one knows how many days I can stay here after today, but the experience of the past half month has made me grow a lot compared to when I was just in charge of operations in the company before.
Growth Points:
1. Different identities, one is a pure operation worker, the other needs to manage the overall situation, including planning and layout of the start-up; 2. The demands are different, one is just for profit, the other is for high profit; 3. The levels of contact are different. Dealing with the boss and communicating with the manager are also different.
Discussion points: 1. Where to go next? Actually, I left Xiamen, Fujian and went to other cities in Fujian. I originally thought that as long as there was a platform and my own brain, I could start from scratch wherever Amazon went. I didn’t expect that it would be difficult to find similar treatment in Xiamen.
2. I have been making high-quality products, but I don’t have outstanding results. I give you a link that can get 10-20 orders a day, and make it a small hit product with 60-100 orders or more. (I don’t know if it’s luck or lack of strength. Anyway, I am really tired and helpless. There are too few people I can communicate with. The people I know in the company have limited communication. They always say that it’s because of the style and resources. I have never seen anyone who can make such a product with such data)
3. The reason why I compromised and didn't leave is that I still hold on to a little hope. The styles I plan to release are indeed very special, and I am also worried about whether there will be infringement of the shape. I used some free pictures to detect infringement, but nothing has been found so far. I haven't used the seller manager's infringement detection function yet. Now I feel that my boss doesn't trust me very much, and I don't dare to raise the issue if it costs money. I will raise it again after we have exchanged ideas and learned from each other. I am very afraid of infringement because no one is selling it at the moment.
4. Finally, I still hope to communicate more. I have few friends offline, and even fewer who are willing to communicate. I would be lucky if I could meet a few online. (I hope I can earn my first pot of gold through luck, after all, my 30th birthday is not far away)
5. I don’t like working overtime, really. I won’t work overtime if I can avoid it. It takes two or three days to post a self-delivery link, and I also have picture requirements, design requirements, and the copywriting is all perfunctory.
Updated on August 13, 2024 It's really funny. After reading the previous sharing posts and summary posts, I suddenly realized that some of the posts are very advanced in terms of thinking. To be honest, they would think in terms of market analysis, preliminary planning, career development and other dimensions.
Looking back at the present moment, it feels like I have been promoted to another level, a good product, relying on a product to complete the launch, negotiation, survival, development, and completion of a project.
Leaving that company in 2020 was probably the biggest mistake I made. At that time, both my previous and current bosses admired me very much and tried to retain me, but I was young at the time and always wanted to go out and travel. I didn’t like staying in my hometown. At the same time, I was really disgusted with the operation of multiple variants of SKUs. I always wanted to have fewer SKUs and high-quality products, because fewer SKUs make it easier to copy.
In 2021, with almost a year of experience, I could still negotiate a salary of 7.5k in Xiamen, but it was a small project team established in an e-commerce subsidiary of a foreign trade company. I didn't choose to stick with it due to family factors, and missed one or two years of Amazon's prime time. That year, Shenzhen should still have a chance to get 10k.
I returned to Amazon in 2023. Haha, it was terrible. I experienced the crazy era when the sales volume started. The PD rushed to increase the number of orders regardless of the budget. I watched the order volume soar all night and the budget was increased unreasonably. (This experience made me realize more deeply that the number of orders can easily make me dizzy. I would rather have profits than just focus on the number of orders.)
In 2024, I will patch things up and don’t want to work for a big company anymore. I am tired and the atmosphere of a process-oriented company is also very depressing. I finally decided to work for a pioneering company, which has ideas and really wants to do cross-border e-commerce business, and has differentiated products or has the resources to match the needs of the company. (The attempt is still ongoing. I am not very good at socializing and I don’t like working overtime. I normally put in 80% of my energy during the day and basically don’t want to slack off. I am keen to use my energy on the point during the day, and basically complete the progress of the day)
Later, I will share several bosses I met when looking for a job in 2024, and the point that one of the bosses’ logic benefited me deeply. Although I missed it, I am still very grateful to meet that boss’ enlightenment.
The follow-up to 2024.8.16 is here! The whole process was full of energy, just as everyone predicted. I almost vomited blood. (I felt very bad. I just spent almost a month with him for nothing. In the end, I was not as good as the boss. I also know what you said and I evaded it.)
I only type secretly when it’s time to get off work. After all, it’s definitely not a good idea for me to get off work on time. I usually finish my meal and stay until around 7 o’clock to catch the second to last bus back home. On August 15th, I finally went on a business trip with my boss to visit the company of his friends in his circle to exchange ideas and learn. Just like what I think, I can’t say the logic is exactly the same, I can only say that 80% is the same, why is there still 20%? Because I am modest, and maybe I didn’t absorb it that well. At the same time, the thinking of the big seller and the overall layout are definitely not something we can imitate. 1. First point There are some companies that have made hundreds of millions of dollars through FBM, but they are not the companies I visited this time. However, I heard from the boss that his friend told him, so I should be able to tell you about it, because ordinary people cannot copy it, and it has probably been played out in the market for so many years. It is just a distribution tool (I won’t go into details, I developed it myself) (It includes communication operations and products. Their products are really awesome, but the team support behind them cannot be copied casually. Without a big market, the basic market is stable.) Our company only produces high-quality products. As for how to do it, most companies understand it. If you understand it, I won’t go into details. The core is just one point: dig deep into the demand points 3. The third point After I came back to the company, I sorted out the SOP, experience, how it was done, how it was different from ours, and what optimizations were needed. I sorted it out in the morning and communicated with him in the afternoon. He didn’t say much, but he started with: You don’t need to say more about this, I know all this, just tell me what you are going to do, do you need to change the pricing? Can it be sold without changing it? How many products should be shipped? (I want to say, why don’t you just tell me about my next sales plan, why are you telling me about the experience of organizing and communicating and learning and SOP? Did I misunderstand?) 4. The fourth point In fact, I blame myself in the end. I guess when I went to communicate and learn with the product and operation managers under them, the boss had already discussed my problems and my value with his friends, and whether the current situation was worth it. I was probably scolded, but they all knew that it was too difficult to recruit a good manager now, and Xiamen was not easy either, so many large-cap companies went to Shenzhen to expand a new team. 5. Fifth point I had to grit my teeth and list the detailed plan he wanted, explaining why I couldn't just send 60 pieces by air, but at least 100 pieces. Even if air and sea freight were carried out on the same day, it would still lead to a large deviation in the operation strategy. You can't guarantee that the production cycle can be controlled within 10 or 20 days. Are the raw materials prepared in sufficient quantities? You want me to send less air freight, and then add air freight if there is a sales trend in the middle. 60 pieces, what else can I send? 5 orders a day, 12 days is not enough, I said no, this does not meet the sales plan, and there is a high probability that I will not be able to replenish the goods in time. If the style is really good, it will be a failure. 6. Sixth point Finally, I have temporarily drafted a plan to ship at least 100 pieces by air, estimated to be 5 boxes with 3 colors; 380 pieces by sea, estimated to be 19 boxes with 3 colors. I hope everything goes well. When we communicate tomorrow, please don't reject my plan. I plan to ship 100 pieces by air for 20 days. If it's worse, we can't sell them after 30 days of price reduction? You said I have no confidence in our product? When you complained that I posted too many products, did you ever think about how insecure you were and how much you wanted to prove that you know Amazon? TIPS: Bosses are the only ones who can listen to each other seriously. Once you are attached to the ideas of ordinary employees, no matter how much you want to explain why, they will not want to listen, because they have heard the general direction too many times and think they understand it. All you need to do is ship the goods and get results for me. "Wonderful Reply"
Araragi Agree with: Beneme, sellerbig, Langliheitiao, amzshuangmuzi, Qiehuang beef noodles more» Your boss is no longer on the same page with you, and it may be difficult to achieve a fundamental change if you stay. Your boss is the type who won't show his hand until he sees the rabbit. In other words, you have to make achievements that will impress him under extremely difficult circumstances, and then he may change his mind. But to be honest, it's just a job, there's no need to make it so hard on yourself. Regarding the interpretation of their domestic strategy, I guess you have some misunderstandings and have not seen the full picture, or your boss is bragging to you and not telling the truth. Maybe their pricing gross margin is indeed very high, but the boss didn't tell you the marketing costs, maybe all sorts of things were deducted, and the profit is not as high as Amazon's, believe it or not. The other thing is the brand. It is presumed that their domestic brands have a certain degree of popularity in this category. They have accumulated a lot of achievements in China over the past few years and are asking a team that has just started to grow. To be honest, this boss is not a good boss (no matter how big his company is, if he makes such a decision, I don’t think he is a qualified boss. He can only be regarded as a temporary successful person in the secular sense) MrStephen • Fuzhou • 2024-08-13 20:45 Domestic pricing is indeed high, but domestic product market segments can indeed be priced high, after all, there is this part of demand in the country, whether it is cultivated demand or originally existed. I can only say that the second boss still listens to the ideas of the big boss. After all, I have only been operating for two or three years, and I really don’t have much say compared to the boss who founded the domestic e-commerce. The current situation is really that we can only take one step at a time, and wait until the second boss doesn’t want to do it anymore. They can choose not to do big promotions such as 618 this year to ensure higher profits. According to their meaning, the final benefit of participating is the same as not participating, so they might as well not participate. It is estimated that the environment this year is indeed not as good as before, otherwise they would not have not participated in the big promotions.
Queen One O'Clock- Queen & 10969 Agree with: MrStephen, White Dress Go Go Go, Duole Little Clever, Bread Lady 2024, Sueeeee more » I entered the industry in 2017 and have worked in three companies. Strictly speaking, I have only worked on two completely new projects. The latest project encountered a lot of resistance and I had to leave to take a break, so I thought about answering this question;
From my personal perspective, I suggest you pack up and run away as soon as possible , because I think your company's senior executives don't understand some of the rules of cross-border e-commerce (especially the Amazon platform). It is undeniable that there are many sellers in the market who use black technology, various manipulation comments, free delivery outside the site, a large number of comments and a lot of traffic to make the link explode instantly and then quickly return the money, but these are very few. In fact, most sellers are ordinary sellers who select and ship products, do not fake comments or fake orders, honestly do Vine and advertising, and seriously study keywords and advertising;
This brings up an important topic. Amazon platform is a long-term business. Only by having a few stable links and slowly optimizing various costs can we finally reach a relatively ideal profit point. This will inevitably take a long time. A year or two is normal.
My former company’s first project took from 2017 to the end of 2019 before it was fully established. The second project took from the end of Q2 2022 to the beginning of Q2 2023 before it was established. Moreover, the senior management had full trust in this business and gave full support and trust, and was willing to spend time waiting. Switch your perspective and observe whether your current leaders can accept such a long time. They have to pay your salary, the project is slow to develop, and you don’t work overtime much (this is not right or wrong). Think about how they will view you.
Then I can't help but tell you about my experience for your reference, which is completely in line with the situation of pioneering In October 2023, I joined a traditional B2B factory. At first, I was supposed to help the factory's products become B2C. Later, I found out that the person who introduced me had done the wrong market research, which led to huge deviations in the data. I had no choice but to start a slightly relevant outdoor project. Then, it was not until March 2024 that formal sales began. During this period, I only hired an operator, and the rest of the administration, finance, design, procurement, and supply chain were all from the factory. The most important thing was that the entire factory, except for me and the operators, had never worked on Amazon. Every link required a lot of explanation and teaching. You can imagine the bitterness and pressure in the middle;
When the product was officially launched in March 2024, it was going smoothly. However, it was out of stock in June. Suppliers were mistrustful and there were all kinds of arguments. We also had to endure the eyes and comments of colleagues who "didn't understand" cross-border business.
However, when the gross profit was already positive but not enough to cover the net profit, they suddenly called a halt. The reason was very simple: they would not sell large items (they believed that only products worth hundreds of dollars were worth selling and could make money), and they were still losing money. A business had been operating for five months, and a project that had already started to make a profit was stopped, and all products were liquidated. What upset us the most was not the sellers who did 50% charity, nor the sellers who did super low-price spiral promotion, nor the sellers who gave us direct negative reviews, nor the sellers who were always $1 cheaper than us, but the attitude of our superiors and the entire company toward our team. We have tried our best to coordinate with colleagues and operate the store, but the evaluation we got was that we had not sold large items for five months and were still losing money. Our Primeday sales doubled by nearly 15% without losing money, but in return, they said that we didn’t make much money, and it would be great if we could make more money. Alas.
If your team leaders do not understand Amazon's rules, do not think Amazon is a long-term business, and only want to make quick money, then you really need to consider whether to stay. Finally, let me talk about the city issue you mentioned. I am in Guangzhou and Foshan, and I have also been to Shenzhen for a while. I can say with certainty that Shenzhen>Guangzhou>Foshan. The overall e-commerce atmosphere and rhythm are different. Of course, the ability level of the people you meet and the treatment of each person are very different, so the city you are in is very important.
I hope my experience can help you, and I wish you a smooth and successful sale in the future. MrStephen • Fuzhou • 2024-08-14 11:34 Thanks for your reply. I agree with this point: most sellers are just ordinary sellers who select and ship products, do not fake reviews or fake orders, honestly do Vine and run ads, and seriously study keywords and ads. (Most of them are like this, except for those big sponsors who have ways to directly open up multiple channels and inject precise traffic into multiple channels to promote products) Another point is that you want to develop slowly over a long period of time, not just start up quickly. Is a base salary of 10-15k a high threshold? (You may be the only person, so you don’t want a high salary, right? Or maybe it is indeed high, because the initial sunk cost seems very high) Another important point is that most bosses without direct relevant experience start high and end low. They are very supportive at the beginning, but start to doubt when the benefits are low for 3-6 months, and then gradually lose interest. Because they are not focused on the cross-border track, the output results are not as good as other platforms, and they will eventually enter the latter few endings you mentioned. Very down-to-earth!
Anonymous user Agree with: A moment of peace, ccdzd1 I have done too many land reclamation projects and there are several things to pay attention to: 1. The operation idea of opening up a new land must be your own. If two bosses give you different opinions and ask you to execute them, you will become more and more tired and still fail. 2. Regarding the issue of capital investment, you need to determine how much loss your boss can accept, so that it is convenient for you to plan the promotion of the product. If your boss sees that you are losing money after placing an order and asks you to change the price, then you will always be in a passive state. There is no way to not lose money when promoting products on Amazon in the early stage. It depends on how much your boss can accept, or you can give him a shot in advance. (Amazon has passed the model of making money by just selling high-quality products, everyone knows) 3. The issue of appearance patents. You must ensure that your product has an appearance patent. Otherwise, if you are sued for infringement after selling it, your boss will say that this product is developed and produced by us, so how can it be an infringement? It is best to have a patent, which can avoid a lot of trouble.
In fact, pioneering is quite challenging, especially logistics, product packaging, picture design, copywriting, all things related to listing are done by yourself, but it can also be very tiring. If the order volume is slow, you have to talk to the boss and so on. I suggest you try your boss's thinking. If you are the type who just wants to make money as soon as the product is put on the shelf, then I suggest you quit! He will keep an eye on your order volume every day and talk to you every day (I have tried it and it was all tears). Now instead of looking for pioneering, it is better to find a company with resources to do the pioneering. This will be easier. If a company with no resources does the pioneering, it will be really tiring to do the pioneering, because all your resources will be classified as his resources. MrStephen • Fuzhou • 2024-08-16 08:57 Logistics, product packaging, image design, copywriting, all about listing The logistics is fine, but the troublesome part is communicating about how to install and post things in the warehouse. I have never done this before, so I need to spend some time to carefully communicate about the product packaging. I can only give reference suggestions for competing products, but to be honest, I am not satisfied, because there are no company's design pictures, and listing-related work is my own direct work. The order problem you mentioned later is indeed terrible. Asking and questioning every day will suffocate you, especially when you also want to place an order but find that you cannot place an order. It is particularly terrible.
The operational ideas for opening up new land must be your own style of play. If two bosses give you suggestions and ask you to execute them, you will become more and more tired and will not be able to succeed. You have predicted it. The big boss basically did not ask about it. Instead, the second boss was very strict and intervened directly. He also thought there was a problem with the delivery. I have been indoctrinated with his thoughts. . .
Anonymous user • Shenzhen • 6 days ago @MrStephen : I didn’t predict it, I’ve already experienced it. I’ve mentioned all the basic problems I’ve encountered in the companies I’ve worked for. I’m just giving you a heads-up in advance and reminding you that he might say something like this later: “You’re a professional when it comes to Amazon. I’m just giving you advice. You need to do things from your professional perspective.”
Anonymous user Agree with: Rabbit makes small money, ccdzd1, Amazon momo I am currently working for a startup company. My boss knows nothing about cross-border business and front-end, and has no logistics or supply chain resources. He only negotiates prices with the factory owner when there are orders. He hired me at the end of last year. Although I have never worked for Amazon, I have a certain understanding of promotion and advertising logic after working in cross-border business for several years. I will be responsible for the whole process.
Then this year we hired an Amazon operations expert with one and a half years of experience. He used to focus on white hat work, but now I’m the one who contacts, screens, and selects off-site promotion channels, negative review deletion, art design, and order-brushing resources. I was able to persevere because my boss trusts me and I fully cooperate with and support our operations. We have been losing money for three months after the promotion, and this month the first store has almost broken even. However, the product profit and market capacity are not large, so it is difficult to make money. Based on what the above YYs said, we found a category with a high average order value and not much competition (the corresponding product cost is also relatively high) to stabilize the basic plate of the first store, which also allowed me to become familiar with Amazon’s entire process. The next step is to select a blockbuster product and focus on making money to see if we can make a profit in the second half of the year.
In the past few months, I have experienced several disagreements and miscommunications, but they were all based on the boss's willingness to give you opportunities and time to make mistakes, and the trust, negotiation, and compromise between you and me. Otherwise, I would not have been able to stick with it. Agree from: Vickyhuang, ccdzd1 One very confusing thing is that no matter how top domestic brands you are, you have to start from scratch when you go overseas. Even brands like ANKER have to build their reputation from scratch when they go overseas. Why do your two bosses think that you have to go for high profits and low volumes when you start doing Amazon, and you also have to have a good growth trend (the original text mentioned that the AMZ team of 1-3 months was disbanded). Don’t the two bosses have any idea in their minds? And the friend who does FBM with a scale of several hundred million should have accumulated it in the years before 2020 as the original poster guessed. FBM’s labor efficiency is originally very low, and overtime is generally serious. If your two bosses are thinking of doing AMZ with this in mind, I suggest you run away. If you talk to the second boss later and can't change her mind, or if the second boss can't withstand the pressure from the big boss, then it would be a pure waste of time for you to stay there. MrSte phen • Fuzhou • 2024-08-16 11:02 Yes, after the exchange and learning, the second boss also changed his mind a little, but when we summarize and review the ideas and communicate again, it is likely that he still wants to distribute the goods by himself, and walk on two legs with the boutique. That is to say, if one leg is not enough, we have to do both at the same time. Because we only need to change the picture, it can be regarded as a new style, similar to clothing. But I really don’t want to do it. I might say that I will post 5 links a day and continue to do the boutique route the rest of the time. Summary: The boss's thinking is that the business is connected. In China, we started with high premiums, and we moved directly to foreign countries. The demand is Chinese and other people who like our elements, so we just go directly, and directly target the customer groups of our products. (I have mentioned whether there are any before. It is not that we think there are some. I guess they don’t want to hear it. There may be some, but what is the proportion? Whether there is demand for online shopping, etc., I don’t care about it, boss. In short, I am just marginalized. At present, I will continue to communicate until I can ship, or hire another product development person to specialize in product research)
Anonymous user Agree from: JosephGan, ccdzd1 The last job I had was 15K for a factory to start a business, 0-1, and the product was a 20-year-old product. The top 1 was a foreign brand that monopolized 95% of the Amazon market at a price of 5.99 and sold more than 50,000 per month. The average CPC for core and precision keywords was 2-3 USD. Yes, the boss was stubborn and wanted to eat him alive. . . I had no choice but to bite the bullet and sell a set of 14.99-19.99. Although this product finally stopped losing money and made a profit after 4 months, the quality was too poor. In addition, the selection of products and stocking of goods were all decided by the boss, and he chose several products that were almost the same as others. The competitors were all well-known international giants, and their fates were all the same. In the end, I couldn't stand it anymore and left. When your professional opinions or suggestions are not respected or even ridiculed, just do your best and then quit. MrStephen • Fuzhou • 4 days ago The last job? Has the senior already started his own business? Indeed, the main thing is the lack of experience. With experience, you will be more confident when you talk about it in the future, and you won’t encounter so many problems for the first time. If you really want to start a new business, you should either be independent and make plans independently. You really can’t mix with others and make trouble for each other.
liudong1105 • Shanghai • 4 days ago @MrStephen : My experience this year is similar to yours. I joined a pioneering company in February. During the interview, they said that they were the top 1 in China, and now they were expanding to the Amazon platform. They said that I would be fully responsible for it. However, what they said was different from what they did. After I joined, the highest premium for their product market on Amazon was 300 US dollars, but they said that the factory could only accept 320 US dollars, otherwise it was my problem. During that period, they called me up at 1 o'clock in the morning to report on my work. I wrote out the analysis report of the entire market, but they didn't look at it. They just focused on the sales of the top few companies, saying that if they could do so much, we could do it too. They never looked at the stocking plan, and they thought whatever they wanted. There was no logistics, so they asked me to go to the Zhejiang factory to pack, but I said I wouldn't pack because I wasn't in logistics. In the end, after the products were put on the shelves, the CPC reached 2.5, and I grabbed a spot, and they had agreed before, but later said that this would be 15 yuan per click in RMB, and you would have to spend more than 100 US dollars a day, which was not okay. In the end, they asked me to invest 10 US dollars a day, and I had to guarantee the order volume, and finally ran away.
MrStephen • Fuzhou • 3 days ago @liudong1105 : This kind of company is terrible. They control it to this extent, $10 a day? At least my promotion budget has not reached this stage. I don't know if the actual promotion will be very strict after the shipment is successful. I have planned my own 3-month promotion budget. The budget is different every day and will be adjusted according to the actual situation.
liudong1105 • Shanghai • 3 days ago @MrStephen : During that period, I worked overtime until 10 or 11 o'clock every day, and I also had to translate the manual for them. There were more than 20 pages in Chinese plus a graphic introduction. I translated and wrote them one by one, and then asked the American company to typeset them. After the result was completed, they were not satisfied. The most disgusting thing was that they called my previous company and asked why my ability was so poor and whether your company was very low. I was often suppressed there. A college graduate could tell me what to do. Later, when I left, they said that I had access to too many company secrets and that I could not work in this industry for two years, otherwise we would sue me if we knew about it. In the end, it was a mess.
Liziyuan - No Comments Agree with: When I wake up, the moon is bright and the breeze is drunk, JamYaung, Looking back suddenly, I don’t want to memorize words, Black More » After reading this, my suggestion is to leave. The bosses are not in agreement and the subordinates can't do anything. I tried twice in two years and still couldn't get a stable job. They have no patience for the project in 1-3 months. If the basic salary is not bad, it's not a big problem to wait until the conflict breaks out before leaving. MrStephen • Fuzhou • 2024-08-12 17:48 At the moment, yes. Another aspect of the compromise is that I don't have much assets after moving around so I have to hold on for now. This is one of the points that also prevents me from leaving on my own initiative.
Liziyuan • Ningbo • 2024-08-12 17:58 @MrStephen : This company has a lot of problems, and you can't make them compromise just by your efforts. The most shocking thing is that his friend made hundreds of millions of dollars in FBM (I don't know if it's true or not). Under this shocking point, all your practices will be questioned.
MrStephen • Fuzhou • 2024-08-12 18:00 @李子园: Yes, I have seen it. After discussing the process with the big boss, I found that the second boss who hired me has wavered. The balance is no longer with me, but with the big boss. But the big boss only mentioned that she is grabbing profits. As for why FBM is because the styles involve many variations of similar clothing, and they tend to be Chinese style, so it is impossible to ship them casually. Now it depends on how the second boss makes the final decision. The current situation is indeed one day at a time, and see if the first batch of goods can be shipped smoothly.
Salomone • Chengdu • 2024-08-12 18:30 @MrStephen : @李子园: There are many companies that make hundreds of millions of dollars with FBM, but most companies can’t stick with it, and many give up before they even see any results.
MrStephen • Fuzhou • 2024-08-12 18:45 @salomon : Normally, FBM should have advantages, and it also depends on the category? Can FBM be much higher than the market average price of FBA? It should be difficult. I don’t know much, because in the clothing industry, fbm was just a way for us to test the models by using FBA traffic. It was rare to find links that were completely FBM, or it was to grab the market at a lower price than FBA.

The second is that if you choose the high-priced route, you can’t set the price so high, unless your brand is very influential, otherwise you will most likely close down.
MrStephen • Fuzhou • 2024-08-13 11:26 @皮皮虾很皮: Don’t talk about brands. You haven’t finished reading it. I did Amazon twice and both ended very quickly. The data I saw was very poor. There were only a few hundred pieces sold, but no brand. So I think it’s very difficult. In addition, the cost of improving the visual is also very high, which is bound to be more difficult.
Low-key small e-commerce • Chongqing • 2024-08-13 14:10 @MrStephen : I would like to ask if you are also in the clothing market? After all, I have not seen any high-priced products in this market.
MrStephen • Fuzhou • 2024-08-13 14:30 @低调小电商: It's similar, even more so than clothing. To be honest, the clothing category we previously sold was around 26.99 for summer styles and 45.99 for winter styles. The discounted price ranged from 19.99 to 34.99. In short, it's not like the current excessive prices of 9.99 for many categories. Barley is basically 9.99-15.99

MrStephen • Fuzhou • 6 days ago @无新联究空: I am really tired. Since the exchange, I have been putting pressure on me in disguise and asking me to have various results. Why are the shipments like this? Why are you shipped so much at one time? You can’t sell them first and then make up for air transport. It’s very detailed. If you arrive smoothly, you will probably urge you to not place an order? Why do you spend so much money and only pay one or two orders? And gradually exposed the strong character of the boss in charge of the supply chain. You might have been the main focus before, but now you are gone.
Walking around the world with poetry and wine • Shenzhen • 6 days ago @MrStephen : Before I talked, I also said that I was the main one and the capital was the auxiliary one, and then I rejected it from the beginning of the product. The boss was like that. I didn’t understand it. Ask people to say they believed in you, but they did not believe in your actions. It was not difficult to understand. After all, it was their money. It would be better to make money and do it for yourself.
MrStephen • Fuzhou • 6 days ago @无王机版生的版: You expressed my thoughts. During the interview, I also said that my decision was the main one, but she actually said that she seemed to make decisions and would refer to my opinions similarly. She didn't pay attention to it at that time, thinking that the product should have many opportunities, and the treatment could barely make up for the current demand, so she didn't care much. Sure enough, I didn't enter the industry and never knew the truth that there were much more problems than you imagined. Come on, see how long it can last. If it really doesn't work, I can only retreat temporarily.
Walking around the world with poetry and wine • Shenzhen • 4 days ago @MrStephen : I stopped the loss in time, otherwise I would have to waste my energy and my mentality would be affected. Fortunately, I didn’t have the impulse to leave the job and jump out to cooperate, otherwise I would have no way out. The best thing is to find a better company to work, and then cooperate with people in part-time work, and then jump out when it is stable. Never cooperate with people you don’t understand or go to open up land. I’m afraid of knowing everything on the surface, but in fact, what I understand is all heard and what I don’t understand seriously. If the other party knows Amazon, even if it is not very proficient, it will not be so tired. Otherwise, everything will be your own worries, and the other party may not necessarily support it. You will be very tired.
Anonymous user Agree from: ccdzd1, Beneme, amz Shuangmuzi, the heroes of the Sui and Tang Dynasties, rabbits make small money more » Many times of land opening tell you that most of the bosses who started their own e-commerce companies are reluctant to invest a lot of costs in a link, and they always believe that they can achieve high profits with very low promotion costs. If you persist here, I hope you will explain these clearly in advance. After all, you may not encounter the over-control of budgets, CPCs, and even buyer show videos do not agree to do these situations. MrStephen • Fuzhou• 2024-08-13 10:26 It is indeed. I actually communicated the preliminary budget in advance when I was preparing to make this product in advance. The main reason is that the responsible boss is not firm, because after all, he is not from an operational background or a supply chain background, which is easy to shake. At that time, the promotion will not meet the expected high conversion rate, which will have more problems. The presupposition I put forward now is still to raise it in a good direction, and the market is not guaranteed to not accept your high pricing.
Elk in the Amazon Forest • Foshan • 2024-08-14 17:11 I'm so laughing. I'm talking about it. I won't encounter the kind of over-control of budgets, cpcs, and even buyer show videos. My boss has to control even punctuation marks. It's simply outrageous
sellerbig Agree from: ccdzd1, Beneme, amz Shuangmuzi, Sui and Tang Heroes, MrStephen More» It is indeed a common problem to be eager for quick success and make quick money. I used some free pictures to detect infringement, but I didn't find it yet. The seller manager has not used it to detect infringement. Now I feel that the boss doesn't trust it very much, and I dare not mention those who have to spend money - what quality does it do without spending money? On the other hand, spending money is also a sunken cost and your own weight for foreign e-commerce platforms. They still have to operate according to domestic thinking, otherwise there is no need to do it. They don't want to do a business that makes 100,000 US dollars in US dollars. I hope it is a business that makes 500 US dollars in US dollars, with a 50% profit margin instead of 5%-10% profit on Weibo - whimsical, no comments Mr Stephen • Fuzhou • 2024-08-13 10:30 Yes, you still have to explain the test at that time, otherwise there will be big problems. I am afraid that the boss will lose interest. When you propose new spending needs, you will definitely not be as generous as you would at the beginning, saying that you need basic research tool fees and then just approve the budget. In short, you still have to continue working hard, after all, this process is a problem that is not thorough enough discussed in the early stage.
noeh • Shenzhen • 2024-08-13 16:34 @MrStephen : The golden age of life is spent in hesitation and too early. Don’t PUA yourself. You are a good person with potential, but your sense of responsibility (to others) is a bit heavy, like me in the past; as the downstairs said, when a ship is about to sink, you are not repairing it, but preparing to abandon the ship and leave; many views downstairs are correct, not targeting the surface phenomenon of whether you leave it or not, but breaking through yourself and believing in yourself. Salary is not worth mentioning to your potential and precious time. You should have a bigger stage. The world is big. Go out for a walk, and the small stage will only destroy your great ambitions. Come on, I am optimistic about you!
MrStephen • Fuzhou • 6 days ago @noeh : Thank you for your encouragement. To be honest, as early as a few years ago, such seniors gave similar recognition almost every year. But I guess I didn’t seize the opportunity, and some good opportunities were missed. In 2021, I remember that there was an offer in Shenzhen that was willing to give 8k treatment, but after the interview, I returned to Fujian and did not reply in the follow-up. I didn’t understand the meaning of almost signing the site at that time. After that, I was basically bumpy in Fujian. Unfortunately, I have been following the usual links. I went to Alibaba International Station for more than a year for some reasons. I went back to Amazon and lost many opportunities. Now, although I am trying to seize new opportunities, no one knows whether the lucky balance will tilt towards me next time.
