93 ships are waiting to unload! Congestion at Los Angeles Port intensifies!

It is learned that according to foreign media reports, 2021 was the most congested year for major ports in the United States, especially the Port of Los Angeles, which was completely overwhelmed.

According to reports, in the first two weeks of September this year alone, 407,695 containers arrived at the Port of Los Angeles, and thereafter an average of about 29,000 containers arrived every day. Throughout September, the Port of Los Angeles handled a total of 468,059 import containers, about 18,000 per day.

However, the continued influx of containers and labor shortages have caused the port to become increasingly congested, and even if the staff work day and night, they are unable to unload the goods on time.

It is understood that as of November 2, 2021, there were 93 ships waiting to be unloaded at the Port of Los Angeles, which means that 540,000 containers could not be unloaded in time, port congestion will be further aggravated, and commodity shortages will be further aggravated.

Experts predict that up to $90 billion in cross-border trade will be delayed during this year's holiday shopping season due to supply chain issues, and there is currently no viable permanent solution to solve supply chain problems.
