Sales volume exceeds 430,000! Domestic outdoor parasols are urgently recalled!

According to foreign media reports, on June 23, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of solar LED outdoor umbrellas sold exclusively at Costco. The reason for the recall is that the lithium-ion batteries in the umbrellas may overheat, posing a risk of fire and burns.

The recall reportedly involves various colors of parasols, including red and blue. The umbrellas have LED lights on the arms, a solar panel on the top, and a black cover on the back of the solar panel. The cover is marked with "YEEZE" or "YEEZE 1" near the top. The affected product brand name is "SunVilla Corporation."

So far, distributor SunVilla has received six reports of lithium-ion battery overheating in the United States, including three reports of parasols catching fire while charging indoors, two reports of spontaneous combustion caused by battery overheating, and one report of injury to the user due to smoke inhalation.

It is understood that these umbrellas were produced in China and sold in Costco offline stores and www.costco.com from December 2020 to May 2022, with prices ranging from US$130 to US$160. About 400,000 pieces were sold in the United States and about 33,000 pieces were sold in Canada.

CPSC recommends that purchasers immediately stop using the recalled umbrellas and remove the solar panels from the top of the umbrellas, store the panels away from sunlight and combustible materials, and do not charge the panels with an AC adapter.

The remedy for this recall is that buyers can return the product to the Costco warehouse for a full refund. Customers who are unable to contact Costco can also contact SunVilla for instructions on refunds. At the same time, SunVilla and Costco are actively contacting all buyers.
